On 2/9Friday, a friend who lives nearby invited me, who is Japanese, to the restaurant as he had been there several times. The food is at the lowest level, just like fake Japanese food from the 1980s. What's even worse is the service, which is as bad as a so-called Japanese chain izakaya: sloppy, careless, unfriendly, and sloppy. Of course, there are no Japanese people here, and they display filthy swearing and filth. I'm sorry, but as someone who has lived in Europe and America for over 30 years, I know that there are more and more Japanese restaurants overseas these days that are better. There is a lot of ignorance in the rural towns around here, and it seems like they waste money. People...

Came here for our first date night post baby for the omakase and left feeling like it was a fun experience, but not sure about the value, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. We sat at the sushi bar and asked for an omakase for $60 pp, so $120 total. The sushi chef gave us about 7 10 sushi pieces each. The highlight was probably the scallop for us. The experience was fun, but when you can order a sushi platter and have so much more food the experience of the omakase left a little to be desired. Maybe I need to have a different mindset around it. I appreciate the chef serving us the items at the bar, but I also wish for perhaps slightly more background or have it be more experiential if it's focus...
The fish was good, but he gave me rotten avocado. And then I ordered some ribeye steak appetizer and it was off. It wasn’t rotten, but it Had gone off a little bit and they still served it. Their portion size is very small for $22. You get about seven little scraps of fish in the Hawaiian pokey and the whole meal was over priced I barely got anything and it cost me $50 with tip that is so horribly overpriced and the food was not even worth it. Very disappointing. I even told him that The beef was off but he still charge me for it. Parking: You can’t even see the place you can’t even find it. It’s hidden behind. A sign parking is in a parking lot that’s for other places of business. It’s just...
Restaurant Koi, a Japanese eatery situated in Seal Beach, is an ideal spot for locals seeking an authentic taste of Japan. The sushi is crafted by a skilled Japanese chef right at the counter, ensuring that each bite is as pleasing to the palate as it is visually appealing, thanks to his impressive knife techniques. While many establishments in the area claim to offer Japanese cuisine, the sushi at Restaurant Koi surpasses even what you would typically find in Japan. If you're in the mood for Japanese food, be sure to pay a visit! Book a table now
While Omakase can be a splurge, it’s well worth it. I loved seeing that many locals frequent the restaurant and that the chefs knew them by name. That shows genuine dedication and passion for their craft. The waitstaff was always courteous and attentive as well. Koi, you didn’t disappoint me then, and you certainly haven’t disappointed me now. This remains my favorite place for Omakase in Southern California! Thank you so much. It was a delightful meal!
Fun Sushi bar scene, but also capable of authentic, traditional Èdomaè Sushi. ? Nice selection of ultra premium Sakè (sah keh) to pair perfectly with high end Japanese cuisine. Sushi chefs are actually from Japan so you know you 're getting the Real McCoy .Of course, Koi will also make American Sushi rolls using mayo, sriracha, eel sauce , Tempura flakes all at once if so desired for the uninitiated. Park in their own parking lot or street parking.
A perfectly comfortable yet classy place to have the most fresh sushi. Service is quick and impeccable. The sushi chefs, if you sit at the sushi bar, will recommend the freshest catches. The live scallop was a pure delight! The bluefin Toro was like butter. Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Fresh Sushi
The service was slow, and the prices were far too high. While the tempura was enjoyable, the sea bass was small and had a distinctly fishy taste, as if it were past its prime. These two items cost $55.00. Book a table now
This is our go-to sushi restaurant whenever we're in Seal Beach. The food is always delicious, the service is prompt, and the ambiance is delightful. Just make sure to get there early, or...
