Partner really liked his pepper steak, raved about the crunchy veggies tasty beef. I have been before and I always order a spicy dish. The owner took the order, and I specified I liked it spicy. Once again they look at me with my very pale pink skin, reddish brown hair and blue eyes and think I lied. Out comes my Thai basil chicken. They say it is medium spicy on the menu. I looked. I was very hungry. No chili flakes. I tasted, no chili oil. I looked again, where are the chilis? It was in a sauce the same as my husband's dish. Very sweet, no heat. Why so sweet, haiyaa! Thai basil? Where? Szechuan peppercorn? Nope. I am so hungry, but once again they serve me food about as spicy Yorkshire pud...

Jason (owner and head chef) is AMAZING. I?ve been to plenty of sushi restaurants from Tokyo to Munich to New York, but this is my favorite the world over. Jason pays incredible attention to detail, orders only the freshest, highest quality fish from around the world, and prepares his dishes with mesmerizing grace. Most importantly, he makes guests feel at home and loves talking about his craft. Incredible sake selection and atmosphere too. Try to go at a less-busy time like a weekday lunch for the best experience when Jason is the only one working. This is my new home away from home.

I got the chicken hibachi (teppanyaki style) with white rice and hot sour soup, and an order of scallion pancakes to share. My friend got the tonkatsu ramen with pork belly. Food was ready within 15 minutes and everything delicious and perfectly cooked. My only gripe is the hibachi was mostly vegetables??there were a few more pieces of chicken that I'd eaten before taking the picture, but it didn't seem like a half pound as promised on the menu. I also wasn't asked if I wanted utensils/napkins and had to go back inside for them.

Great restaurant with fast and friendly service. Sushi was well balanced with perfectly textured rice and the right ratio between the rice and fish. We also tried the ceviche appetizer and was very impressed with this fusion dish. It’s very spicy and leans heavily on jalapeño mixed with Asian spices. Though you could tell that they were understaffed for the wait staff, the kitchen was fast and we never felt neglected or under served at any point. I’ll be back for more in the near future. Koi is our go-to place for sushi takeout, but we decided to dine in tonight, and it turned out to be an incredible experience! The atmosphere inside is tranquil and transports you away from Raleigh. The service is outstanding, and they offer a fantastic selection of sake and sushi. If you're searching for a wonderful date night destination that’s a bit off the usual track, you should definitely visit Koi and savor the exceptional cuisine and ambiance created by Chef Jason Chow!

AN ABSOLUTE MUST VISIT. Was visiting Raleigh and stumbled upon this place, and so glad I did. From price to service to taste, this is 5 stars in every way. They offer BOGO rolls which are affordable, fresh, and taste amazing. That?s not the best part though. The owners made me feel like family. I felt more like I was over at a long time friend?s house for dinner than at a restaurant in a new city. Thank you guys! My only regret is that it?s too far from home to eat at weekly.

I truly don't get how this restaurant manages to stay open. It’s hands down the most affordable sit-down eatery I've visited in Raleigh. Surprisingly, the food is quite good and the portion sizes are generous. The sushi was average, but the Thai Basil dish was fantastic and could easily serve two meals. Definitely check this place out before they figure out they could raise their prices by 20 percent and still provide good value.

I ordered the Peter Parker (on the left) and the Sweet Dragon (on the right). The Sweet Dragon was excellent, and I really enjoyed it. However, the Peter Parker didn't impress me at all; the roll was poorly made, with the sushi falling apart, so I ended up eating it like a rice bowl. Overall, I'd be willing to try some other dishes again, but this first visit didn't quite meet my expectations. Book a table now

This place blew us away when walking in. Decided to try this place after seeing in passing a few times. It is a wonderful little hole in the wall restaurant with a beautiful atmosphere and amazing food. Tried the sushi, ramen, chicken, rice, and dumplings all very delicious.
