We had heard good reviews and so were looking forward to dining at Konak but unfortunately my expectations were not met. We arrived to find that there were dining rooms at Konak but there was only one open and felt very like we were dining in our front room, tables were cramped together and we were asked to give the server our coats as so we would not take too much room, decor was like an old fashioned tea room with doilies on the table and when the plates, salt and pepper and candle were on the table there was room for nothing else, and tables were so close together we could easily listen to the next tables conversation. second visit and was not disappointed, first was the lunch second dinner. beautiful personal large service and it was pretty busy as I think is the norm for them. the selection of food for vegetarian is very good, which helps me, often I am limited in the choice. eating was very tasty, portions were very good enough to choose wine. the venue is not huge and in the room in which we were, was a tad claustrophobic for me the tables are quite close to each other, so then it becomes quite loud. this is a “small” thing and my special “hang up” and would not stop me again. it has a very good call in harrogate and I am happy to go back. Konak Meze is a friendly restaurant with a good ambience and very efficient service. The food is interesting and the cold meze sharing starter was outstanding. The only reason why the food is not 5* is because a lot of the turkish dishes seem to be similar and some are lacking in a spicy kick!
This is Turkish food that has not been anglicised. It is the best Turkish food I have eaten outside Turkey. We love this place. It is friendly , genuine and quirky. It is deservedly so popular that Saturday nights at short notice are marginal. And the prices are reasonable.

Excellent food, lovely cosy room with a great ambience. Staff extremely helpful and personable. Would definitely eat here again. Varied choices on menu, very tasty food, had lamb dish and of us shared the cold meze to start with. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you
beautiful staff at the place were great, there were only 3 stars, because I thought it was too expensive for what we got. we're not a big eater, but it was a little bit sparse. we all had lamb in different formats and it was nice.
Lovely restaurant, fabulous food and first class service. Much appreciated a wine tasting before buying a bottle of Turkish red wine, of which was good quality..... can't wait to return.
visited here in november every year since 2018 and they did not deliver. eating is simply wonderful and the staff could not be more political or more.
