I honestly can’t express how much I love Kurry Shack. Growing up Pakistani, I wasn’t a big fan of Indian/Pakistani food and always thought if I weren’t part of the culture, I probably wouldn’t choose to eat it. But that completely changed after dining here. Calling the food amazing doesn’t do justice to the incredible flavors and care that go into every dish. The owners are some of the kindest people, always making me and other customers feel valued and well taken care of. When it comes to the food, everything is cooked to perfection—whether vegetarian or meat dishes—and they even let you customize the spice level to your liking. Everything is made fresh right in the kitchen, including thei...

Jasmine and her father add to the wonderful dining experience at Taste of Punjab. Their hospitality makes a visit even more enjoyable. The food is truly outstanding, showcasing the rich culinary heritage of Indian and Pakistani cuisine. Each dish is prepared with great care and expertise, making it a standout among other Indian restaurants in the area. In my opinion, Taste of Punjab offers the best Indian food in Philadelphia. I highly recommend giving Taste of Punjab a try. This restaurant offers not only amazing food, but also a great atmosphere and flavors that will keep you coming back for more. Overall, a 10/10 rating is well-deserved for Taste of Punjab.
Hidden gem in south Philly. Warm, clean, and friendly atmosphere. Employees make you feel very welcome. Food is delicious and fresh--the flavor of the tikka masala is my favorite of all the Indian food I've tried in Philly. They do a lot of takeout, but very cozy for eat-in as well. They let us try the vegetable pakora, and we had the chicken tikka masala and chicken curry that came with rice, and tried some pappadum. They offered spicy level of 1-5, and 4 definitely had some heat. I preferred the tikka masala sauce to the curry sauce, but both were good. Parking can be tricky in the area, but well worth the trip. Highly recommend it!
Had the absolute pleasure of eating lunch at Taste of Punjab today. They greeted me as if I was being welcomed into their home, giving me a seat right away and very quickly getting my order taken care of. The staff was kind enough to even offer a complimentary appetizer of the Mixed Vegetable Pakuras, which were the perfect start to the meal. Their Butter Chicken and rice were delicious, and the Garlic Naan couldn't have been a better compliment. They let me know they're approaching about 1 year of being open, and I hope they're here to stay. Can't wait for the next time back! Book a table now
We placed a delivery order through Uber Eats, and shortly after, the restaurant called to confirm our order and spice preferences—very impressive! When the food arrived, it was flavorful and seasoned just right. We enjoyed lamb vindaloo and chole at a spice level of 4 out of 5, and chicken tikka masala at 2 to 3. Highly recommend!
I visited Kurry Shack for a meal, but the owner, Hasan, asked me to leave because I had previously worked there and had not been paid my wages. He refused to settle what he owed me and did not want me to return as a customer. I also learned that he had withheld another employee's salary for an entire week in the past.
Called twice, both times I was told “too busy” and awkwardly hung up on and then “we don’t delivery” when on the menu they just handed out to me says “we deliver”. Come on guys I’m trying to give you my money. Guess I’ll take my business to Kitty Korner from now on
Came here for lunch. Pretty standard Americanized Indian menu. Chicken masala was fine. Pretty standard and on the heavy and salty side. Service was a bit cold and no lunch menu. Book a table now
Owner was very nice (was from Gurdaspur). When he came to know I was also from the same city, he offered me more dal and subzi as a nice gesture. I felt really good meeting him.
