Emily and John give a warm welcome at La Bergère and it feels like home from home. The catering is far beyond expectations and very generous. Home made cake at afternoon tea is a treat and there are pre dinner drinks and canapés as well as a three course dinner with wine. I like coming here so much that I have stayed three years in a row and on two of those years came for two separate weeks. There are lovely views of the mountains through the living room windows and a bookshelf of inspiring adventure books.
We had a wonderful snowy week staying with Emily and John in Christmas 2024. The house is lovely, comfortable, and highly relaxing. Each morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast (shout out for the amazing granola), and each evening started with a much-appreciated aperitif followed by a yummy homemade dinner. We enjoyed great talks with other guests and plenty of outdoor fun (skiing, snow rackets, sledging), and we left with full bellies, red cheeks and fond memories. Thank you, we'll be back!
Tiny independent mountain hotel with 5 rooms. The hotel style is basic rural with good cleaning standards. What really stands out is the love and effort that the couple who manages it put into create an ideal experience. They offer amazing homemade dinners as well as a delicious breakfast filled with local products. They are also very helpful and keen to plan with you the best way to make the most of the time in Ayer. The 5.0 stars average they have at the time of writing is well deserved!

Wunderschönes kleines und gemütliches Hotel. Ich habe mich direkt wohl gefühlt. Das Frühstück ist klein, aber völlig ausreichend. Es gab jeden Morgen frischen Obstsalat. Auf Wunsch werden frische Eierspeisen oder Pfannkuchen zubereitet. Das Abendessen war auch wirklich jedes Mal sehr lecker! Sehr abwechslungsreich und mit viel Liebe zubereitet.
Wir haben 3 Nächte im Hotel La Bergère verbracht und können es nur weiterempfehlen. Emily und John sind super freundliche Gastgeber. Das Zimmer war sehr neu und es hat uns gut gefallen. Wir haben die Halbpension gebucht und waren davon begeistert. Das Essen war jeden Abend ein Highlight, kreative Gerichte, super lecker!
You’re in for a treat, this is a special place. Emily and John are brilliant hosts and made us so welcome. The skiing was amazing, food and chalet superb, loved this secret valley we will be back.
