michelin recommended traditional unpretentious Burgundy-Esserie a few miles outside of beaune. not a chic decoration, but good regional and traditional eating served by friendly waitress. good value 27 euro price menu (games of the duck etc.) more than enough nobody should go home...hungry the cheese board is a cheese lover delight a fantastic selection that is all kept at the right temperature. the wine list, however, is on the expensive side not in terms of quality, but in terms of the high price entry stage, which makes it a little more cool with eating. that one of few local restaurants on Sunday evening opens a bonus for dinner. do not expect a sharp kitchen, but good traditional French...

Although it is not as great as others have claimed, there is certainly much to recommend this family-run facility. the cheese board is a veritables note: perhaps the owners should consider creating a cheese-only menu. the braided bark was a juicy joy, with the meat. the correct amount of resistance to the knife. the white chocolate mousse dessert delivered exactly the right balance of sweet, cold and dense. but the plucked egg starter was a little more than a creamy supper. and the baba in the rumbaba was quite stale and dense. Moreover, the prices of the courts promised more than what was delivered. yet, a pleasant but not spectacular meal.

My husband and I lived in Paris in the early 90's. Loved the Burgundy area and always made a point to have lunch here. Patricia Wells Food Lovers guide to France was my bible. She steered us here. The most wonderful salad with sizzling lardons....Happy memories here. Just the best. From the reviews it appears to still be family run. Thank you. (Trip Advisor wouldn't let me pick my visit as 1991)
