It's worth it for the view alone. There is no better view of Saint-Paul de Vence than from La Brouette! We started the night (we were there 2 nights ago) with a super tasty little aperitif, followed by the marinated salmon and the smoked trout - Michel's signature dish. As one can only order complete menu's and not à la carte you might find the desert a bit too heavy but who am I to complain? At least you leave with a full stomach and at €32 (incredibly reasonable for this area, I have to add) it doesn't even hurt your wallet! Oh yes, added bonus: absolutely charming service! La Brouette is a place where you get a real experience. It's welcoming, it's unpretentious and nicely laid back. If th...

A small but exquisite menu, very fairly priced. The dishes were somewhat unusual for the area (strong Danish influence), a very much welcomed change. The portions were very generous. Between the seven of us we tried everything on the menu and loved all dishes. I'd definitely recommend the marinated salmon, the smoked trout and the fruity deserts (peaches or apricots). The veal was very tasty as well. Small but good wine selection. Tasty kids menu available. The service was attentive and very friendly. Lovely setting as well with plenty of outdoor space so you almost feel in your own private garden. Not many tables so probably best booking ahead. English spoken.

This is a wonderful place. You park on the road and descend 100 metres or so down a vertiginous drive to tables laid out under the trees, lit by oil lamps, so that it feels like a magical grotto. Some tables have a great view out to St Paul from a small terrace. There is also an indoor area which does not look much like the web site much more charming. The owner has Scandinavian parents: hence the speciality of home smoked trout, which is truly delicious. The menu is small, and gives little choice, but that was fine by us: we enjoyed it all. Delicious rose to wash it down. We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed a very special evening. This place is unique.

I spent a week in the Vence area, and La Brouette was by far the highlight of my stay. Dining there was a truly unique and magical experience. The atmosphere is romantic, relaxed and genuine, and the warm welcome from the gregarious owner is delightful. One feels more like a valued friend than an anonymous client. The view of Saint-Paul de Vence from the beautifully landscaped garden is breathtaking, and the food is a delicious culinary trip to Scandinavia. Make sure you order the smoked trout, a house specialty, smoked to order on the premises. An unpretentious five star experience. Highly recommended. Book a table now

Wanted to try La Brouette after reading several good reviews, and was not disappointed. We were greeted with an aperitif at a location with a beautiful view of the St Paul de Vence across the valley, even though we arrived 30 minutes before opening hours. We had the four course menu that is very reasonably priced. The host also recommended a suitable wine that went well with the whole menu. The smoked trout is a speciality, and something that is highly recommended. We would love to come here again some other time, and do not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to people in the area.

The hidden gem of Saint Paul de Vence. The place is really charming and from my point of view if you are in the area, you shouldn't miss it. From what I have seen you can only order complete menus, not a la carte, but the choices are delicious - a combination of Danish/French cuisine. I recommend the smoked trout, it's just wonderful. We were there in a group and we didn't even realized when the time has passed, we really enjoyed every minute of our stay. Looking forward for a next visit. Thank you!

Well, not sure what we were expecting, but it was well worth the trip, a taxi was expensive, so recommend driving. The restaurant is quirky, set beyond the town of St Paul de Vence. It's located at the bottom of a steep driveway, through a pathway into the back garden of the owners house!. We had a table with the most beautiful view (would've been even better, had they trimmed an overgrown bush). The food was very tasty. Really enjoyed it.

First of all, a special mention about the location - this cozy eatery is located just across a valley from Saint-Paul-de-Vence. The view towards the village from the terrace is rather nice. The restaurant itself is very cozy - it feels almost as if though one is having food at a friends' place. The food is Danish (the owner has Danish parents), and very tasty indeed. Probably the best smoked trout on the Cote d'Azur! Book a table now

The best restaurant during our entire trip - it's located on the mountain slop in a beautiful garden. The food is excellent - a Danish/French combination that won't disappoint you! Service is in top and you really feel great here. Prices are very reasonable. Recommend anyone to stop by this place!
