"This is a fantastic little place, with the dedicated staff. The food is great. But it falls victim of its own popularity as at times it cannot cope with the avalanche of clients. But if you’re lucky to be served you won’t be disappointed. High marks for the staff that stays cool and professional under the barrage of unhappy customers who weren’t lucky to get a table."

Having skied down the back of Mont Chery, we stopped at Chanterelle for lunch. Nice day, busy outside so sat inside. Group arrived after us were served first and got their food. After 40 mins we asked where our food was, told couple of minutes. After an hour asked again and were told looks like order has been lost do we want to order again. Drinks sat behind bar for 20 mins and had to collect ourselves. In the peak/half-term ski season they showed they couldn't cope. Others were turned away so they could catch up. Left hungry and wasted the afternoon.

Stayed for a week with a friend and our kids (10-16yrs). Fantastic location for the Mont Chery chairlift, ski in ski out but not ideal for beginners as no blue runs. Our 10 year old managed the red cat track down without issue though. Food was excellent and really well looked after by the two ladies. Nothing was too much trouble at all. Rooms are good, plenty of space and en-suite facilities are good. Only downside was the internet which was patchy at best. Would definitely stay here again though.

Visited on New Year’s Day for lunch. Restaurant under new management. Burger was completely cold, surely it’s difficult to get a burger wrong?! Sent it back and rather than doing a fresh one it looked like it was put in a toaster or oven and reheated! Unbelievable! The Croute was the worst ever tasted and quite expensive. Very very poor food and vastly over priced for what it is. Maybe they were having a bad day after festivities the night before? No excuse though!

What has happened to La Chanterelle, I have been eating here for over 20 years, it has changed hands several times during this period but my friends and I remained loyal. Two days ago we took a meal, table of six, we all agreed it was possibly the worst meal any of us had ever had not only at the rest but on the mountain, not sure if they cook and microwave but it is not worth revisiting. Also the house wine is to be avoided. Good luck
