We were recommended this place from the guy whose lake we're fishing at nearby and boy was it a top tip. We all raved about our lunch and the locally produced beer and cola we had with it. Friendly staff and customers, prompt service and...delicious food. We had between us the duck leg, pork filet mignon and a huge Veggie salad, it wasn't cheap but well worth it, and a vast selection of other tasty sounding dishes. Perfect location outside looking up at the impressive Citadelle.
Only high praise for this restaurant which serves food very much in the French tradition. Relaxed yet elegant atmosphere, a well-chosen range of dishes on the chalk boards and effective service are the foundations on which La Citadelle has added wonderfully well-prepared food .. and...with generous portions as well. Clearly an establishment that is in gear and confident that it can live up to its high standards.
En entrant dans ce petit coin magique redonnant soudainement vie à l’histoire, comme si vous faisiez partie de la famille, autant de goûts que des gens merveilleux vous y accueilleront à bras grands ouverts. Partageant avec vous leurs bonne humeur légendaire et les goûts exquis d’une cuisine dont vous ne manquerez pas de vous souvenir!
Un régal, un pur délice ! Le service est adorable, nous nous sommes sentis très vite à l’aise, comme si nous entrions dans le restaurant d’un ami. La qualité des plats est tout simplement excellente. J’ai tellement adoré que je reviendrai sans hésitation. Book a table now
Nous avons passé un formidable moment avec Ghislain le patron de ce petit resto très sympa de Parthenay. Le cadre est authentique et on y mange très bien. Un restaurant incontournable de la cité médiévale Gatinaise!

This restaurant never fails to deliver. It's next to the citadel in Parthenay and offers lovely seating. They always have a very varied menu with many choices for starters, main course and dessert
