"This restaurant is one of the six or so on the harbour strip, and it is easily the best. Food is of a high standard and very well presented. Food is fresh, well prepared and tasty. Wines are also just fine and reasonably priced. Staff however can be overly fussy and formal, which is not really consistent with both location or venue."

Just finished a delicious meal at fleur de thym. We were a 'walk in' and we're lucky to get a spot as there were several people turned away after us. The initial service looked promisingly fast and efficient however I was left staring at the left overs of my main course for over 20 mins which was not good. The fish of the day was mackerel which was tasty but not much of a stretch for a fish restaurant. The wine list is impressive and the entire menu is priced well. The food was cooked to perfection. We were given a seat beside the promenade overlooking the marina which was fab! The problem was that they got busy very quickly which was good but looked short staffed. It is a restaurant that I'd...

Very bad service. Arrogant and not too much interested in customer's word. I got overgrilled or literally burned fish with that taste of coal when you take a piece in the mouth. First the arrogant waiter tried to insist it was only the outer part and I can still eat the white parts. Then eventually a few rough and unpleasant comments afterwards they decided to bring another one but the feeling of not being a welcomed customer here and very bad aftertaste remains. If you're in St-Denis d'Oleron and other restaurants are open (I saw next door moules place was very crowded) then go there and ignore le Fleur de Thym. Myslef I would never come back to that place. Never ever.

We needed to book a table as it was Saturday evening. Even though it was late June the weather was too warm. Unfortunately we chose an outside table and whilst the view and ambience was good we felt cold by the end of the meal. There was a fair selection for choice but we chose one the 'formules'. It was very enjoyable and nicely presented. We had the 'poisson de moment' - local caught fish and very fresh. We shall most likely eat there again.Another advantage was that our waiter spoke reasonable English, so helped us with any translation.

We went there as two families with kids. The waiters were quick and responsive but the thing to remember is of course the food. We had different dishes for starter and main course but everybody agreed that the smoked salmon was second to none. I can't remember the names of the dishes we had but one hot serving was three different kinds of fried fish that came with white sauce which was very good. Myself I had blue shark, which was exciting to taste but nothing I would ask for again. I recommend this restaurant for its seafood. Book a table now

We had been recommended to try this restaurant. We tried to book on the 13th July the main night for Bastille day at St Denis but had to settle for the next day. We had an excellent meal served by very pleasant staff. There are several restaurants along the quay all with fairly similar costs. La Fleur de Thym is slightly more expensive than the others but we felt the standard was higher than the others we have used in the past. We shall certainly go there again when we next visit St Denis.

We visited this restaurant on a relatively quiet Thursday night. We asked to sit at the front of the restaurant but did not get a choice of table, although the restaurant was basically empty. We ordered Mojitos who came, but there was no alcohol. At no point where we offered a wine list The food was average, but expensive basically a very disappointing experience..
