We visited this restaurant on 29th May and it was recommended by our host at our chambre d'hote just outside Pond Audemer. We did not book but the owner welcomed us warmly. We chose from the menu which was on a chalk board and there was a really good choice. We had an aperitif and the owner recommended the wine which was very good. All the food was cooked to order and was excellent. The owner spoke excellent english and told us about his teachers whom he said taught him english in the old way which obviously worked very well. The owner was very attentive and very friendly which made our visit more enjoyable. We would definitely return if we were in the area again.

Relaxed and very friendly; good helpful service.(mostly he spoke English, mostly I spoke French - so we both got some practice. And really great food: well balanced, well cooked with good deep flavours.A pity I could only have one dish for each course.Often in France you are asked to order your dessert at the start (even though you don't yet know if you want one). You are asked that here - but only for a couple if them which take time to prepare. I chose the tarte fine aux abricots and it was superbe. As I said we will be back

We had to walk a long way through Pont Audemer on a chilly January night to find a proper dinner, and were delighted to find La Gourmandine. The confit of duck was really good as part of a 11 euro 2 course plat du jour. A nosy look at our neighbours suggested that their scallops in sabayon were well worth the 19 euros. We will call again!

We went out for dinner on a Saturdaynight. Unfortunately, there was not a menu available to choose from, but only a la carte. This was not what we were looking for. W ended up with Tapas for two ans a salad for both. Nice, but nothing special at all. Maybe a wrong night??
