My husband and I stopped here on Saturday with our two eight-year olds for lunch. We arrived at 12.45ish to find we were only the second set of diners in a very big restaurant. Only one other table was taken during our stay.We waited about 10 mins to be offered a menu and then another 10 before our food order was taken - then we were offered drinks. The waitress taking the order was less than welcoming, patronising when I ordered a medium steak 'a point' for my daughter and a rare one for myself. It was then another 20 mins before we were served our first course of three. So service was slow, not very friendly and not very attentive. I would hate to see what it is like when it is busy.Apart...

Living locally, How wonderful to find this jewel and will definitely return here in the future.We booked for 9pm last night and found the restaurant still buzzing. We sat watching in awe of the size of the steaks being cut and relished the aromas drifting under our noses.For starter we shared a delicious mixture of duck salad, followed by entrecôte cooked to perfection, the taste to die for and so succulent, no chewy bits, just melting away on the tongue, as I write this I am salivating at the memory. It was served Hot,no fuss of overpowering sauces, with a jacket potato that soaked up the natural yummy juices and a tasty little filled mushroom on the side. Piggies that we are ,we still mana...

We went to this restaurant having heard great things about the steaks. We arrived at opening time as we did not have a reservation. I would recommend if you come in peak tourist season, that you book ahead.There was only the one chef and one waitress but they worked tirelessly and were making sure everyone had everything they needed. We had Entrecôte which was delicious and a generous portion. We asked for it medium and that is exactly how it came out.A fantastic meal and I would definitely be back again if we stayed for longer.

My husband and I visited this restuarant at the end of June, I had the steak, my husband had the salmon. Both were cooked on the wood fire and whilst the salmon was delicious, my steak was absolutely melt in the mouth scrumptious. The owner chef cooks everything in front of you and although simple everything plated is perfect. We returned a few days later with my sister and husband and all four of us had the entrecôte steaks and all agreed possibly best steaks we had had. Bravo chef. Book a table now

Just round the corner from my hotel I nearly didn't go because of some ver harsh reviews on trip advisor. I have to say the meal was amazing simple but beautifully done. I had the lamb cutlets amazing and a perfectly cooked baked potato with sour cream and chives and butter. The dessert was fresh strawberries with chantilly cream and a local liqueur followed by coffee and Armagnac. The service was friendly attentive but not over the top. This restaurant deserves to be much busier.

We arrived a little early to find the grill master raking embers to the front of the grill in preparation. Two of our party ordered lamb chops which the chef carved from a rack carried out from the back. I ordered from the prix fixe menu that offered a 'piece of beef' which turned out to be a huge boneless rib eye steak. The meats were cooked perfectly and were tender and delicious. Excellent value for money as well. 'The Big Pig out' lived up to its name.. Reommended!

Arrived a bit late for lunch with 2 friends. Very welcoming, although said as we were late we couldn't have a starter. This wasn't a disadvantage as the steak for the main meal was big and filling. All cooked right in front of usThe only down side was my wife said the water wasn't working in the ladies so couldn't wash her hands!

Amazing place! Steak is beautifully cooked, jacket potato was delicious, couldn't fault a thing. Loved it was a family friendly feel, family who live in France always go and was grateful to be able to experience it! Owners are very friendly and welcoming. Book a table now

Went there for steaks with daughter and wife . Expecting ok food , but to my astonishment it was the best steaks I have ever tasted and Marie and family so nice . Would definitely go back again
