most “restaurants” in castellane serve burger and salate, which for me found a very sad development at many places in France. but they wait when they have luck or look hard enough, they find an exception as la main a la pate. right next to one of the main roads of the city that leads to digne, but right in the center, there is this small jewel a beautiful terrace and its large Italian chef. we went a few times to midday during the stay at the gorges du verdon and every time he surprised us with beautiful dressing. guard!
I didn't try them all, but this is probably one of the best restaurants in castellane. very nice outdoor area, the staff is very friendly. the Italian food is delicious, we have tried the cold cuts as appetizers, then pizzas and pasta dishes. all in our group enjoyed eating.
I strongly advise this restaurant: an antipasti plate at 16€ with a ridiculous amount (1 mini cherry tomato cut in two, 2 small mozzarella balls, 2 slices of charcuterie); not to mention the unpleasant and clumsy server. Don't go!
To avoid! quality ingredients but ridiculous quantity. 16€ for an antipasti dish, scandalous. At best it's a nice entrance. the misaddress of the server and its mis-amability do not compensate the disappointment of the dish.

very friendly helpful staff who had full gourmet experience in other restaurants in the last week, we have an informal meal, the menu gave great choice and good value for money to eat and wein. good quality to eat.
