Having seen the cosy view through the windows and read the reviews on Trip Advisor we had high hopes for this restaurant. When I went in to book the manager insisted time and time again that it was a 'refined' restaurant and was I really sure it was suitable for our group! Yes it was I assured him as we very much enjoy refined dining. On arrival we were shown to a very large dining room without any atmosphere it was very unwelcoming and busy - it all went downhill from here recently - the waiters were downright rude and appeared not to understand any English or French and the food was average at best - forgot to bring half the drinks and the vegetables, misunderstood a lot of what was said,...
- Yes, I want to reserve at the restaurant that serves lobster, why are you asking me several times?- Please, waitress, take a shower before work as the smell of sweat when I'm sitting at a restaurant is not apetizing. Same for your collegues. PLEASE use deodorant. Makes me wonder about your hand hygene.- Why are the four of us sitting at a table for 8? Luvly contemporary restaurant..nicely spaced tables and good music ...We decided to taste the secret menu that he is on offer 2 nights a week ... our waiter first checked all allergies ..and all unloves....Lowe were very satisfied with all courses. muse bouchée..butternut quash mousse..i had herbal soup with a small soft egg..hubby had cream of cauliflower soup also an egg...ummm.mainkurs ..duck breast perfectly boiled and presented with vegetables.Dessert was orange flowers panacotta and small grapefruit bits
At the Marmotte Hotel we ate breakfast. It was buffet style for €15 per person, and while the offer was good the quality was very average. Hot drinks were self-service from a push button machine in a four-star hotel I would have expected better. We found an excellent cafe around the corner, the great coffee and freshly prepared eggs / avocado made on toast for half price and instead eaten there.

Only finished a nice 3-course mystery dinner here (scallops, best lamb I ever had and a beautiful coffee desert with sorbet) was mainly served by William(excuse spelling) who was brilliant and very friendly! All the other employees who helped us were also beautiful!...Would definitely recommend nice relaxed dinner, not rushed, but service was fast and food was of the highest quality. Thank you.
We stopped for lunch during our ski trip with the family and this has lost its edge, Last year we had 3-4 visits but this time once was enough, disappointed that standards had dropped. We do not like to have to give a bad review but maybe this will bring it back to the standard it was,
