It was a festive Christmas Eve dinner, with decorated trees and cheerful white lights everywhere. The staff were pleasant, and the service good on an extremely crowded night. For a $90 prix fixe meal, however, my dining companion and I thought the portions, such as for shrimp appetizers and a scallops entree, were less than generous, and a little unsatisfying. A filet mignon entree was of adequate size. The food quality was quite good overall, and a cauliflower soup amuse bouche, flavorful desserts (creme brulee and dark chocolate pudding with whipped cream) and mini cupcakes to take home, enhanced the experience.
The highlight of the meal was the complimentary cauliflower soup served in a tiny espresso cup—it was simply exquisite! I've never tasted anything quite like it. I ordered a raw seafood platter with oysters, clams, and shrimp, which was fresh and very enjoyable. The halibut for my main course was average; nothing particularly special. The dessert was also just okay. My date had the char, but I couldn't tell the difference between it and the grapefruit slices it was served with. She had the filet mignon and really enjoyed it. Overall, it was a good experience.
We’re still discussing how impressively your staff managed the Christmas Eve rush. Every team member was incredibly helpful with our menu inquiries and ensured that everything at our table was taken care of promptly. The decorations were beautiful, and we appreciated the thoughtful gesture of the muffins to take home, along with the personalized note and coupon for our next visit. Portions were very small. Service was very slow. It may have been due to the Christmas offering. Our server and the manager was very helpful and apologized profusely and totally understood all the issues. We ate there last Christmas and if was fantastic. I may try it again during a normal week and if good, I may go back next Christmas.

We really WANT to love it here; unfortunately, something is “off” every time we try. Last night (Christmas Eve) were the temps on both the lamb and the filets. The staff is excellent and always extremely accommodating — it’s simply wearisome to have “near miss” experiences over and over again.
Amazing New Year celebration! Had such a wonderful time, will try to make a tradition from now on. Tomas was our waiter and did a fabulous job. Even the helper dude (the amuse bouche guy) was wonderful. Look forward to our next dinner. Always a win.
We thoroughly enjoyed Christmas dinner at La Plage... delicious food, great service, and a warm, cozy environment. However, two days later they skimmed an extra $20 from the gift card I used to pay the tab. I won't be back!
