No matter how much we order the chicken in advance, it is never ready at the appointed time (between 1 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. each time). Last time, I was surprised to have 1/2 chicken for 5... even though I had ordered 1 whole one. And as a bonus I almost swallowed a piece of plastic while eating my fries, which by the way are not good and expensive. In short, I tried several times, always the same bad experience. Now I'm going to order it from the butcher a few meters away!
I have been coming to France since I can remember and the food is by far my favorite part, rotisserie chicken being one of my favorites here in Houlgate. A few weeks ago i tried the rotisserie chicken from La Rotisserie Houlgataise and I can...hands down say it was the best rotisserie chicken i have ever tasted! Not only that but the owner is extremely friendly and accommodating. Try it for yourselves!
So far we had an excellent Rotisserie-Farm chicken, juicy and tasteful and stellar gratin camembert. You will not find a more memorable person on the planet than the man who will serve you in La Rotisserie Houlgataise, and he collects the offered beasts... from local farms themselves. Can't wait to try the famous ribs! YUM!
I visited this last summer while I was in Houlgate vacation and I was thrilled. The chicken was very good and the ribs are from this world. You also have a potato grater worth every penny.
