Visited this restaurant twice with my partner... first time had very good experience, good service and food, we had liver and it was beautiful. Second visit not good, service mediocre, free table near window we requested but told it was for 4 people, 5 minutes...later another couple took the table, I think regulars who had a salad and water... major issue was the meal. The previous visit we had seen a couple having cote de boeff but it was not on the menu.. the waiter said it was available but didn’t tell us the price.. it was ok but a lot of fat, a little tough, and turns out it was €110 euro just for the beef... we found this out when the bill arrived. I think they believed we were tourist...
I have visited paris 4 times and can officially characterize my meal here as the worst I have experienced. some Sundays through the restaurant en route to the railway station. it was early in the afternoon and very busy so I took it as a sign. that eating was good. there was nothing on the menu that jumped on me, so I ordered a croque monsieur and pommes. the broth was very dried. the sandwich consisted of a thin piece of cooked ham and 1 thin piece of processed cheese, which was hard, as made overcooked and then set to long. more common place for me in the past, so I went back. beautiful settings, good service and a correct menu. I would classify this messing series as typical French brasserie, but with a plus, as the location is excellent and the decoration is very pleasant. I know. other better brasseries, but in this area would be my choice.
The restaurant had a facelift recently. I appreciate the re-decoration, but the food is still the same. Overpriced for what you get. 26 EUR burger that is terribly prepared. The kitchen needs improvement....
