First and foremost the biggest take away I had with the Segunda Bakery was DISAPPOINTED! Extremely.. being from Miami and having grown up with a Grand Father who came to this Country from Cuba in 1966 and then opened up the First Cuban Bakery in the City of Hialeah back in 1975 knowing the core and taste of what a true Cuban Bakery is La Segunda really was a Disappointment. The Cuban Bread was horrible.. Long and lanky but it was extremely hard to pull apart and took forever to chew.. not to mention it was nothing like a Cuban Bread should be. It looked and tasted like that Bread that gets driven in by a Truck to local Markets. The Pastries or PASTELITOS were called “Turnovers”.. apparently...
Let the tourists and suburbanites stick to this place. Better alternatives to every menu item in every direction including Flan Factory, Bread on the Bay, Palm Ave Sandwich Shop, El Puerto, and Abella's. Stick to their bread even their pastries are limited these days and again, better options no more than ten minutes away. Order online? You'll still wait. If you order salads you'll wait around until you have to ask on a status, they'll then realize they have a salad order waiting because they don't watch those receipts. They'll make it in a rush and mess up the order 100% (3 out of 3 orders with salads now) of the time. Order in person at the register? Tourists and out of towners have a lot...
Initial review adjusted since the quality has definitely gone down and the prices went up significantly ever since American Express promoted them last year. My first visit was ok but after the promotion everything changed. The same food can be purchased at any bodega for less than half of what they charge. They got my last order wrong and when i went back inside to get the correct item they told me it wasn't their fault and I would have to pay again for the correct item! Sad that a little promotion would cause a business quality customer service to go down while prices went up.
I ordered an online order of two Cubans. 1 Pressed 1 Cold and I added what I wanted and not what I wanted my order was totally wrong the pressed sandwich had to get tossed because he don’t like it pressed or with Swiss cheese in which I clearly wrote in note to use American yellow cheese. Spent $25 on 2 sandwiches and neither was right so disappointed and ruined our appetite.

We order two Cuban sandwiches great flavor but we have to wait 52 minutes because they only have 3 employees and we ask and they told us they have more than 150 orders of food for take out and Uber eats. It's the owners fault to not have enough employees and explote the few they have.
The bread is absolutely amazing! It’s perfect! It is the most perfect expression of Cuban bread I’ve ever tasted in my entire life. As a reference, I am Cuban and have eaten plenty of Cuban sandwiches, hundreds, maybe thousands in my lifetime. U know u want to come here!
At least double the price of the Cuban bakeries in Miami. I planned on leaving with a box of pastelitos, instead I just bought 2 singles. So sad. Didn't really taste authentic either. I will look for a mom and pop bakery next time.
Oh my goodness! Every time I go home I stop here on my way to the airport. I get 12 loaves of Cuban bread, devil crabs, pizza, and Cuban sandwiches. The service of wonderful and the food.... Wow!

Well, I can happily say as a true Floridian/Tampanian La Segunda is legit! An impressive 109 yrs in business. Need I say more??
