We were told that getting in to Table de Norbert was impossibly without a reservation, but we took a chance on a weeknight. It paid off.Let me mention the problem with dropping in. They might have to stick you in the smokers' room. On the positive side, when people learned that we were nonsmokers, they refrained from smoking while we were there. Of course, you can't guarantee that every night.The other thing that US diners may not know is that entrecote, which was defined in our dictionary as "prime cut of beef" isn't all that prime by our standards. The meat was good but full of gristle so I wound up butchering at my table. (I had entrecote at another restaurant with the same results so now...
authenticity guaranteed! Very nice restaurant! We booked for 8:30 and we were very well received. in addition to their room, they have a terrace at the expense while being protected and also allowed smokers. The service was fast. waitresses are nice and have a smile. the frame is authentic. we ordered at the entrance a foie gras at 14 euros and a handmade charcuterie plate at 12 euros and it is very well garnished! for the dish, a 18-euro duck magret with a chilled sauce and a 16-euro squirting sauce, accompanied by fries and a salad. We didn't take a desert to eat well. I really recommend it, we go back!
Recommended by our host and just around the corner we had a delightful evening. Told they specialise in steak so thats what we ordered. Not disappointed. Well cooked and the waiting staff were very helpful. Monsieur Norbert was a good host and a slight mix up with one starter was quickly sorted (unlike some of our other restaurants where we have found they don't like criticism)All good and very well priced for 4 people and even a free drink at the end. Nearly went again...
La Table de Norbert was recommended to us by friends, We have driven past many times not knowing the location but now we do we will be regulars when in town. It was a very busy Friday evening and its necessary to book in advance. Food was very well presented, service was good, Norbert was around the tables ensuring all was well. Definitely a good place for varieties of steak. Give it a go.

We chose La Table de Norbert for a meal with friends. We wanted a simple 'steak and potatoes' meal and all our choices were executed to perfection. Full of happy patrons on a Tuesday night, the room was a pleasant surprise (and a change from the Indian restaurant that formerly occupied the building). Recommended for a great steak in Carcassonne.
Made the mistake of arriving early. Not allowed to sit, not offered a drink, told to wait outside. Eventually allowed to sit in a back yard but still no drink. There are so many good places nearby where you can sit under the stars surrounded by trees and plants. We left and went to one of them!
A must if you go to Carcassonne.The food is excellent, Norbert the "king of Carcassonne".Price to performance is absolutely ok.If you like meat, you can't get it any better.An experience, we never want to miss. It was a fantastic evening. Thank you, Monsieur Norbert !
Read some reviews decided to give it a try. Glad I did steaks are marvellous Norbert is a larger than life character, patrolling his restaurant talking with dinners and sharpening their steak knives with the steel he carries, don't miss this experience.

Great place, especially for Carcassonne. Not the usual salad de chevre chaud and magret de Canard, but really fresh meat, homemade fries, unusual things like the bone marrow plate. Out of the way, but well worth the visit.
