Unusually shaped hotel converted from a few traditional houses on 2 floors with 1 lift long corridor 1 km from the beach and restaurants! Our smallish for the price but adequate room was on the 1st floor miles away from the reception but very close to the Spa entrance! The bathroom was ok apart from the lack of non slip surfaces hand rails for the shower inside the bath! Good breakfast room serving proper scrambled eggs unlike Mercure Rochefort! However it lacks a Nespresso coffee machine unlike Mercure Rochefort for making decaf coffee! The fitness room overlooking the race course is great was like our own private gym as few used it! This hotel offers a great location, quiet, not far from the city centre. It is also directly next to the hippodrome, which allows the traveller a superb view, offering a regular equine show. This mercury has multiple places of relaxation within it, which is perfect during bad weather. The staff is quite charming, nice and smiling. The only flat would be the room we had. An old decoration and good cleanliness but that can be improved. Nevertheless, the bed and the sheets are incredibly comfortable. And finally, breakfast was very nice! We were able to taste local and quality products. We enjoyed discovering the selection of ingredients!
The last UK review on this restaurant appears to be almost exactly a year ago and I could have written an identical report a year later after our family's visit last Tuesday the 6th August. The main problem is with the serving staff who seem to be inexperienced and without any form of training and we waited so long for our set meals to be completed that we left without the sweet course and a completely incoherrent bill ! The lack of service spoils what could be a fine restaurant so the management really does need to shape up and properly train its staff.
A beautiful hotel, not far from the city centre of Cabourg, which offers many services (piscine, hammam, sauna, massages, etc. in a quiet and relaxing environment for a relatively correct price. I particularly appreciated the efforts made in favour of the environment (glass carafes with water fountains available, etc.). Small negative point: breakfast, although good and very hearty, is very expensive in my sense.
