This review is strictly for the catering side of La Tapatia. They catered my wedding on July 10th of this year. Overall my guests loved the food and the dinner service went well. But we did have issues with the servers. They did an excellent job serving and picking up the plates they provided. However, when it came to picking up dessert plates, they were very pushy. Dessert was meant to be enjoyed from the moment it opened at 6:30 to the rest of the party at 9pm. SEVERAL times they tried taking guests' dessert plates away while they were dancing, and were asked SEVERAL times to please leave it. Later when no one was paying attention they came back to throw it away after having been told 2-3...
I frequent this really tasty restaurant. They have the best chips, salsa, and bean dip that I've had at any Mexican restaurant in Contra Costa. Same for the margarita...it's amazing! People are always shocked when they have those items, and that's before ordering food from the menu! I usually have the chicken taquitos or the crunchy chicken tacos, which me satisfied every single time. The crew is really nice and friendly. Definitely one of the best Mexican restaurants to visit.
Shrimp, chicken, and steak fajitas, bean dip with enchilada sauce, homemade green AND red salsa were all soooooooo good! This was the best V-day dinner ever! We sat in their outside seating section and service was excellent. Was not loud or rowdy. Just perfect all over. The Mexican Painkiller cocktail was bomb too. We will be back!
Great meal, wonderful margaritas! Good prices, too! We're here again and LOVE the food, drink, and service.
