My husband and I were looking for a restaurant and when we saw La Tonkinoise we were excited about having a South-east Asian meal. On the terrace, there were three tables available; litterused utensils and plates and napkins indicating that people had just left. Since it was a bit windy, I wanted to sit inside. I looked and saw that only two of the tables were taken, ALL the others were available. When I asked the guy, in English, if we could sit inside, he very rudely said: NO! All taken, ALL reserved. Really: don't go here; there are many nicer eateries in the same streets. We had a set menu lunch midweek. The quality of the food was poor (very fatty, for example); it didn't resemble any oriental food i've ever had before (e.g. the satay' sauce didn't taste remotely like satay sauce in any other country I've visited; the canard lacque' was also unlike anything my partner had ever eaten). An automatic room freshener of the kind normally found in toilets squirts horrid perfume at you every quarter hour.The restaurant is also badly in need of refurbishing.
Warm atmosphere with the owner who welcomes us and advises us. Succulent discoveries prepared on site. Note that the Vietnamese cake is quite compact so take it if you have space left. A small error on my friend's order who had asked for an Indian bo-bun but we did not notice the error. We enjoyed everything we chose. Thanks to the cooks and bosses
Every time I visit Clermont-Ferrand I eat here at least once. My favorite dishes are the bo bun bowls (especially thailandaise and parisienne) fresh and simple, perfect during the hot summer months. The neighborhood is great to view the Cathédrale, and Cafe Pascal is just at the top of the hill for a refreshing drink before or after dinner.

I've been there twice. The noodle with pork dumplings was perfect , soup taste has good smell and delicious. I also tried salad with spring roll , crispy pork and rice noodle mixed up together with the vietnam style dressing , the taste of this dish is fully impressive. I recommend you to try!
Still very good We've been going there for 25 years After traveling several times in Asia, we find real traditional cuisine. In addition, the boss and his daughter are very nice. Very good evening guaranteed. To do again without problem
I ordered My Xao and I should say the sauce was too salty ! Choose well ur plate... The other plates could be okay. Service is slow but not so bad as well.
