La Vigne is a bakery on the Korean side of Eastwood. I come here regularly as they have a great selection of baked goods to try and the breads and cakes are quite nice. I absolutely love their sweet potato cake and breads with mochi in them. Drinks here are also pretty decent, a nice little hangout spot after lunch or dinner in Eastwood. I have also just recently found that they have extra seating behind the cafe.. which is so silly of me as I have regularly gone to this bakery for years! I recently tried their Mango Cheesecake Bingsoo which ended up being surprisingly good, the cheesecake pieces make it have great taste and texture. My only main criticism is that the staff are sometimes a...

Decided to check out some local shops, La Vigne looked like a good target. The sliding door opened to a small Korean bakery, surprisingly there was no bread aroma. Staff were Korean but too bad I could only speak English. Not much to say about service. I ordered a matcha latte to see if there are any good joints other than café Cre Asion but once again I was let down. The matcha latte was like poured straight from a packet, very sweet, and lacked the texture and flavour of a real matcha latte. Sweet potato cake, a Korean specialty, was slightly heavier than the bakery across the road, Pishon, but it had unique flavour that I couldn’t make out. I decided to return for coffee after a couple...

Coming off a food high from my recent trip to Seoul, I was suffering from Bingsu (shaved ice) withdrawal and was moping around until I was tipped off about La Vigne. Here, they serve 'snow ice' which is the bees knees of bingsu, where the ice is soooo fine, each mouthful melts on your tongue upon contact. My favourite out of the selections is the rockmelon. Half a rockmelon is hollowed out, filled with ice, topped with fruit, rockmelon icecream and drizzled with condensed milk. All this for $13 meant I could order a side of Opera without feeling too guilty. The opera is not the best I've had but the crunchy nugget on the top was a great touch. The cafe appears small on first impressions...

I tried there pizza (expensive and while I was expecting more topping on it,it did feel heavy) and custard toast (literally what it sounds like) and the red bean custard bun (like the softness of the bun and had plenty of red bean in it) They are all nice but at the same time I could get the same quality for cheaper elsewhere
