I am extremely disappointed. My favorite fish and chip shop has really gone downhill. Last night, my husband had to remind the server that he ordered a fish supper, not a half portion, as she initially only gave him a small scoop of chips. Although he eventually received more chips, none of our meals had enough. You shouldn't have to point it out or keep an eye on the server! For £17, I expect to leave feeling full and satisfied. Unfortunately, that was not the case this time. We will be sticking to Frankie & Benny's from now on.
Great little fish and chips shop. It takes a few minutes for your order but they are pretty quick about it. It's a boatload of food for next to nothing. They also have a small, free parking lot (car park for the Brits) by the door which isn't obvious from the street. You can pretend that's the outdoor seating. It took me about 20 minutes to drive over from Strath Clyde but it was worth it. I recommend that everybody in the area make the trip if you're in need of a fish and chips fix.
During my recent visit, I wasn't asked if I wanted a bag for my takeaway, but when I collected it, it was in a brown paper bag that I was charged 12p for according to my receipt. It's not about the cost, but the fact that they are nickel and diming customers in this way is disappointing. There are plenty of other takeaways in the area that appreciate customers during these difficult times and don't nickel and dime them for extras. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. Love this chippy. You'll wait a little bit, which means everything is fresh and piping hot when you get it. The fish supper usually has two pieces of fish, so you could get one fish supper between two people pretty much. The fritters are also really good and worth trying. Get the sauce on the side (or buy a wee bottle so your batter doesn't get soggy, and sit in your car in the back car park to eat it as fresh as it comes. Don't forget the pickled onions :
the best fish chips we had in such a very long time! they even made muddy! everything was crisp, not quite fat, their broken sausages were so good. everything was packaged in biodegradable/recyclable materials. the personal was friendly, efficient and friendly, not only for customers, but also for each other, although it was very busy. it was a round tasty bite, but next time we share huge portions so warned!
While they no longer offer a gluten-free only Saturday once a month, you can still enjoy gluten-free fish and chips any evening at this restaurant. The fish and chips are cooked to order, so there may be a short wait, but they are worth it - hot, crispy, and absolutely delicious. We always look forward to treating ourselves here.
I sometimes get food from here and it's really good fish and chips, 11/10, would recommend, the fact that there is a lot of fish and chips places like this, this is potentially one of the best I've been to, it was really great, and it's definitely the best in falkirk Book a table now
