Several times I have dropped in for a snack at Laurent in Burke Rd, Camberwell. And each time, I wonder why the wait staff are so unhappy! Have two years of Covid 19 lockdowns Mask wearing mean people no longer know how to smile at patrons? Why not even look at ppl when delivering their coffee? Very strange indeed. Is it haughtiness or boredom? Whatever it is, it’s very off putting. The coffee was lukewarm (I requested hot) and my half ham baguette arrived some time afterward. It didn’t require heating/toasting so don’t know why it took longer. Such a shame the experience isn’t more enjoyable.
They're consistently friendly here and their pies, cakes and hot choccies are deliciously sublime for eat/drink in or takeaway. I don't think they should heat up their pies in the microwave though, as they go soggy and it ruins their good quality. Also, some of their staff didn't seem to know what Bastille Day was lol. Other than this they're a good café with nice furnishings overall.
Delicious French pastries and great coffee!! I was staying at Hawthorn and I went back for breakfast twice! The pastries were crispy while the fillings were creamy. Terrific service and love the feel of the cafe. Both coffee and pastries were well priced with two pastries, two large iced coffees and an almond cap all for under $30.
Very impressed with the decor and also the food offerings. The young girl on the register totally lacked personality to the degree of needing a personality transplant !! but the young girl that brought our order to our table made up for it with a pleasant attitude. Not cheap but good coffee. The food was okay but also pricey.

I have been to this restaurant numerous times and have always enjoyed their delicious coffee and food. The service can be a bit hectic when it's busy, but overall it's excellent. The only downside is that they recently started putting icing on their Chocolate Croissants, which I'm not a fan of.
I really enjoyed the jam and custard filled donuts here, but they were really expensive and then I noticed that you could buy the Laurent Bakery donuts across the street at the Coles supermarket for about half the price.
Always loved their cakes, coffee and croissants. It is always so delicious. Recently ordered trio cake for my friend’s birthday from them .. amazing.thanks to the Laurent to make her day nice and delicious
Never disappointed with Laurent Bakery especially birthday cakes. All cakes are amazing and very moist and creamy but not so sweet. but my favourite is raspberry and chocolate mousse. Worth money

The spinach and feta quiche at this restaurant is fantastic, and the coffee is delightful. The ambiance is enjoyable, and the staff is friendly. The location is great for shopping in Camberwell.
The donuts and cakes were very delicious and not overly sweet. The cakes looked cute and I hope to come back next time.
