Party of 4. Unfortunately, except for one entre, all the others were very good. The one exception was the Chicken Cordon Bleu. The outside was crusty and burned. Inedible. When served, I said that it looked burned. The server said ALL were like this in order for the inside to be cooked. Obviously, the outside should be golden and edible. I had to cut off the outer layer in order to eat. I was quite disappointed with his answer when served. If this is normal, they should take it off the menu. If not, they should be honest and own up to the fact that my serving was not up to par.
Seating too crowded—kept bumping the person behind me. Service poor—waiter tried serving the salad twice rather than the dinner to us and the folks next to us. Food not special for twice the cost—same old salad and soup. We are 40+ year customers and were disappointed with our Thanksgiving dining experience last night. We believe Chalet Basque is capable of making a Holiday Dinner experience more special for customers.
Best experience ever, food steak dinners delish! Minestrone, healthy yummy, salad with blue cheese crumbles and NY steaks never enough of those buttery, creamy potatoes gratin, merlot and end on a sweet note with a flan Thank you Patrick, Freddy, Diego cooks for a lovely evening before a month in Venice IT.
The service was, as always, professional and first class. The menu was the most varied I have seen it at Chalet Basque, and all four of us truly enjoyed our meals. I had the Beef Bourguignon and it was hearty and tasty. Chalet Basque keeps getting better and better. It is one of our go-to places in Marin.

We eat in the bar. Although it was busy, it was always relaxed. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Entrées were excellent. We had sweet breads and veal conte. Watercress soup was wonderful, salad, excellent. In other words, it was a great evening.
It was like 2 hrs before our entree came ! They said they forgot we were there ? The soup was bad , a split pea Curry ! Salad was saturated in dressing! And my entree was Linguine and prawns in a SpaghettiO red sauce! Horrible!!
Why nickel and dime in adding a mandatory 3% service charge? This 3% is added not only to the food items, but also calculated on top of the sales tax.
Always a great time. This time especially with my dad in a wheelchair and how they accommodated us.
