We where overwhelmed by our meal at this beautiful restaurant, set in the grounds of the magnificent Château Léognan, where we were stopping over for a night. The restaurant is in a beautifully converted stables but all diners were seated outside on the terrace, which was large enough to have been a former riding area. The staff, despite their apparent youth, were knowledgeable, attentive and professional and gave us excellent advice on the wine (from the domaine). Each dish was a masterpiece: a magical fusion of flavours, put together with the freshest, locally-sourced ingredients. The tomatoes were out of this world! We wanted to go somewhere for a pleasant and relaxing and good meal and this place certainly lived up to our hopes. It is in a beautiful location only about 15 minutes out of main Bordeaux. It is so quiet and tranquil. We had a pre meal drink which was a really nice cocktail and enjoyed this in their comfortable chairs. We chose to sit outside which was wonderful. The menu is great a touch choice of food! It was beautiful. Really well cooked and tasty. Service was brilliant. We had one of their red wines from the winery which was good (2014). In all a beautiful meal.
You will be welcomed by a small orchestra with a singer will not leave you any respite throughout your dinner. cannot have a malt pure whisky, the wine card is limited only to the pessac of leognan and the kitchen is very average. chicken net (maybe fed to but? you will be served with but, of course, and the meringue of dessert breaks with hammer. all in a stifling heat with a joyful pile of children running between the tables and an addition of tripod, you will have understood it, we were not conquered at all
The setting is wonderful, surrounded by horses in the fields. Service was very friendly and efficient. I ordered the gravlax which was simply delicious, probably one of the best I have ever tasted. My husband had a very good fish dish and we had some iberico ham to share with the kids. we had deserts which were delicious and they offered us some sweets with coffee. I am not normally a fan of the classic French macaroons but these were yummy. Recommend. Book a table now
Dinner at Le Manege was exceptional!!! From the warm welcome we received to the fond farewell of the staff, everything about this extraordinary restaurant was everything we had hoped for and more!!! Amazing outdoor eating environment, exquisite food and outstanding wine!!! Everything was perfect. I only wish we could eat there more often, but our trip to the Bordeaux region is brief. Given the opportunity, we will return as quickly as we can!!!
Main dishes good but the starters and desserts not at the same level. Staff was nice and professional but nothing much. The best of this restaurant is the environment which is in the middle of the nature surrounded by pine forests and it is enclosed in the property of Chateau Leognan. All-in-all I would say good experience but for the price would expect something more exquisite so not good enough value for the money.
Relaxed setting for lunch at Chateau Leognan. The food was tasty with some inventive dishes. The wine list was also decent.
