Le Marquant - Table reservation

Our first visit although we have been many times to their restaurant in the centre of Angouleme. Bascially, it's a wood fire grill restaurant. We had tender faux filet steaks with double fried chips and salad, plus a cafe gourmand for one of us and a creamy panacotta for the other. Lots of shaded parking which is a real plus on a hot day. This isn't a fancy, smart restaurant but does what it says on the lid.

Bien que le service soit un peu froid, les grillades sont excellentes, cuissons parfaites et frites bien salées et chaudes à tremper dans un camenbert rôti sous la cendre, la terrasse est agréable, les prix raisonnables.Petit bémol, éviter les desserts, la crème brûlée est servie dans deux tout petits ramequins à tapas et elle ressemble à un flan Joke trop cuit, nous n'avons pas aimé...

Two visits in two weeks and not disappointed with any course. Tge Eggs en cocotte starter is out of this world. Lamb chops, burger and beef carpaccio all amazing. Save some space for cafe gourmand! Back again this week!

8€ le steak de hampe, morceau correct et de bon choix. Simple mais bon, cuit au feu de bois avec les échalotes. C'était très bien ...

Pas cher mais on en a pas plus. Tout au barbecue. Le chef est sympa et le reste est moyen. Cadre atypique.
