It’s away from main light rail construction project so it makes for a nice warm haven on Foveaux where you can turn it into your office for the day, enjoy a catchup with mates or just indulge. The menu plays into our comfort zones without being too over the top. This is good, because you can rely on it’s consistency and invest without taking too much risk. Our meal today focused on their signatures: CRUNCHY POTATO ROSTI (with smoked salmon, also available with smokehouse bacon FYI, roasted cherry tomato, feta, spinach and poached egg). Subtle enhancements to the hollandaise sauce with Saffron and a crumbling of crushed pistacchio are a welcome touch that revitalises predictability...

You'd be forgiven for missing this place - not in the greatest area of Surry Hills & the fit out is nothing to write home about, but give this place a shot! We enjoyed the Scrambled eggs w/crispy bacon & the Eggs Benedict with smoky gypsy ham. Both came with scrumptious sourdough bread, and an interesting concept was spreading beautifully fresh avocado on the sourdough of the eggs benny. They also "drizzled" some balsamic vinegar on the Eggs Benny plate which would compliment the flavours of the runny egg, ham & avo so well. Small touch but so damn good!! Coffee was nice without being a highlight. Service from most of the girls was good, but can be improved. Great little atmosp...

Their coffee is one of the best coffees I've tried in Sydney.  The location is great, very close to workplace and also other cafes in Surry Hills.  I won't say they have the best interior since the lighting, as I remember, is a bit dimmed.  However, it's still a very decent place to have a good meal and coffee afternoon.   Didn't get to try the famous matcha hotcake last time but I did tried the Chicken Linguine and I loved it soooo much and I actually went in and purchase a takeaway during my lunch time the other day.  Love this cafe in general! Edit: Friendly staff! Tasty savory sandwiches <3 Book a table now

Dishes at Le Monde seemed pretty interesting. I tried the Matcha pancakes this morning. The Pancakes were wonderfully done - a layer of crisp on the outside and soft but aromatic interior. Perhaps Bills or Pancake on the Rocks can lend from them. Nonetheless, I wonder why the Pancakes were called matcha pancake because I could hardly taste matcha. Perhaps the chef could consider sprinkle green tea powder instead of the icing powders

Came here around 11, and the waiter told us that theres a 5-10 minutes queue, but we ended up waiting for 30 minutes. Ordered the potato rossi with smoked salmon and it came out really fast. The smoked salmon and the potato rossi compliments each other really well. Potato rossi was nice and crispy. The tomato adds a light sour taste to the dish. Overall, really love this dish!

One of my favourite brunch spots in Surry Hills. I am always drawn to their too-pretty-to-eat matcha pancakes. I also recommend the truffled poached eggs and crunchy potato rosti - pretty much the signature items on their menu, and for good reason! A nice cafe with simple decor and excellent service.
