Well our group of four had been told in advance about the speed of the service which, it seems, some other reviewers had not (although it seems to be British reviewers complaining make of that what you will) so we knew in advance this...was not a dinner that would be rushed. I speak French, but the rest of my party do not, however the waitress still explained, in impeccable English, the way they do things. The food was mostly fantastic. Two starters of artichoke soup were heart warming and rich, another starter of goats cheese parcels was delicate and sharp, and the other starter (mine) of foie gras deep fried was lovely, if weird. It was basically a foie gras spring roll, which didn't work...
The service was very slow and the chef obnoxious, the serving staff were friendly and polite. Starters although very slow to come out were very good, goats cheese salad. The main meals were even slower and when the tartiflette eventually appeared it was cold in...the middle. I can forgive the odd hiccup, but the chef coming out and saying it’s not cold and arguing with you is not what you want to be paying for. Tartiflette went back and after microwaving came back out but still cold, chef standing over you whilst you try again is very intimidating. Eventually meals came back at acceptable temperature but they forgot one. This all went on whilst the group had finished their mains. When paying...
We ate here on the last night of our ski weekend. The front of house staff were lovely but they were let down by the behaviour of the head chef. The fact that the food was so slow to come out could have been forgiven...but when the tartiflette was cold and we had to return it twice to be heated up, plus had and aggressive chef standing over us arguing that it was fine because the French don’t eat hot food we’d had enough.....not to mention that they had totally forgotten to even partially cook one of the four dishes totally so one of our party had no food at all. Visited the restaurant this skiing holiday as was fully booked last year when we tried to get in. To be honest it was below our expectations. We both had the entrecote we boeuf and was just ok, certainly nothing to write home about. The desert...menu was a sticky plastic menu with basic deserts that didn't impress. We eat out each day of our day holiday and this was the worse meal we had, much better places in town and on the mountain

we ate here as a family last week and loved not only eating but also the service. the owner served us and was incredibly patient and attentive to us what explains the menu. the food came fast, and was delicious exactly what we were. for real French mountain kitchen. fondues of all kinds and local ice-creams. we would come back to samoens to eat here again.
Not bad food, but not as good as anticipated. Entrecôte de boeuf was ok, but I could probably cook it the same at home and that’s always a measure of a good restaurant. If it’s better than you can do at home then it’s worth...visiting. Plus the frites were oven cooked from frozen. Big no no
beautiful cozy place, excellent raklett and burger, very regionally done. waiter and manager very nice. efficient service and relaxed, not pushed out so that they can do 2 seats. they need to book a restaurant in samoens or they do not come in.

Very friendly staff and excellent food. Maki rolls an Iberian pork superb. Highly recommend. My friends had the fillet of beef, melt in the mouth. Very good local wine, Mondeuse, which complemented the food perfectly.
nice meal (not a special menu though) had raclette cheese and meat, but was quite a big dinner so could have done without the salad starter! was nicely decorated and cozy.
