What a shame we have had many happy meals at the Sphinx before the staffing changed but now all is different. The excellent range of pasta dishes has been trimmed to a few and set lunches are as simple as an omelette as the dish of the day only the price is the same as when it was a full meat course. The attentive happy smiling staff are also all gone (down to the small restaurant at the lake at Vinca we hear). On Friday night we went and were barely greeted by the waitress. She started to take our order but lost total interest in us when some young men (20 years her junior) said goodbye. We ordered steaks and she brought pizzas. She then brought the steaks not cooked as ordered so one went...
We ordered take away pizza from here a couple of times and it was really good. Thin. crips base and tasty toppings. Very fast and reasonably priced as well. We also sat in and had lunch which was very good, very tasty and fresh carpaccio de boeuf followed by a spot on Creme Catalan. Great local bar too, friendly staff. See you again!
classic dishes, nothing exceptional. service pretty slow. small disappointment for this bar in the marketplace that looked cool!
