Got lunch here at the tail end of their lunch rush this past Friday. I saw that they were busy but I had gotten my order for a Raider sandwich before another rush of customers. Unfortunately, the folks behind the counter made at least four other customers’ sandwiches before mine, so I was stuck waiting for a bit. I asked for ETA on my sandwich and was met by rudeness and excuses that they were busy, and the owner telling his employees to make my sandwich because I was “unhappy”. Family tree always flourishes.This place has been existing almost 36 years and it gives every customer a bit of the country of Italy. I passed this place many times and always wanted to come in. So it's finally happened, thanks to my husband who loves sandwiches. Leonardo's cafe is the place with history covered on the walls around. I love when customers can not only just grab their food, but also soak up with cultural experience. I liked the owner who was open and friendly and had a nice conversation with me. Walking in Leonardo's feels like walking back in time. They have fresh soup of the day on a counter and on a typical morning I see folks get an espresso and people watch. There's Sinatra playing which mixed with the smell of the soup and sandwiches being made just puts a smile on my face. The sandwiches are highly customizable but I tend to stick with the menu board staples because there's something for every mood if it ain't broke why mess with it?
I ordered the Warrior, which has Roasted turkey, cranberry, and Monterey jack cheese on a Ciabatta roll. My friend ordered a Turkey sandwich on a sourdough roll. Both were delicious. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5
