Was here with some work colleagues on a weekend for lunch. My only complaint was the size of the tables, and the dining space. Yes, it's Lille, and it's an old building, but it was a constant battle to manage the dishes and glassware that was on the table. In fact, we had to use the bar to set our bread on! Also, once you get into your seat, good luck getting out unless you are leaving... too many tables, not enough space. Having dinner at this traditional estaminet should be more pleasant when it's not overcrowded. Pretty nice atmosphere, the place is informal but balaced by the gentle service. Not appreciated the choice to serve nothing else than Ch'ti beers, alcoholic starting by 7° and not my taste, or the Breizh-cola which is not even belogs from the Nord, instead of a normal one. Anyway I would back for the carbonade flamande, dipped in a really tasty and special sauce, kid portions but I can understand it, fries and price on the spot. In Lille every estaminet has its own traditional receipe for the carbonade flamande and this one surely deserve a visit.

only 14 covers. It provides local dishes, so nothing fancy, but what was offered was of high quality at a reasonable price. Two meals including wine for under 70 euros. You can see the chefs at work on a sort of CCTV from your table. The service was very good and friendly. We left feeling very happy with our experience.

Typical regional food but nothing special. We tried the Carbonade and the Welsh. It was average as per my opinion. The Welsh was quite saulty, but the beef in the goulash was very soft. The combination with the sweet bread is something for a person particular taste, it was not bad though.
