This quite new café-restaurant (or cucina bar, as it calls itself) is aspiring to do a lot at a better than average standard. It is open seven days, offering a breakfast-all-day menu and a lunch menu and some daily specials. Also it stays open...some evenings (Friday, at least) for dinner. And it offers catering, and functions (in the upstairs space). I dropped in for a quick lunch on a Saturday. Service was friendly and efficient. My coffee was excellent. As this place is walking distance to my home I really wish it would improve as it does have the potential to be a great place, but it is just lacking in terms of service and food isn't on par with other cafes in the area. I went for brunch and ordered the eggs benedict which was ok - nothing special. The service was terrible, especially since I was the only person in the cafe for most of my visit. My plate and coffee cup wasn't taken away after I finished - despite sitting there for about half an hour reading the paper. No one came to ask if I would like anything else. There were plenty of staff on, there were just chatting amongst themselves. Please improve Manfred.

I get my coffee from here every weekend. The staff are very friendly and great to talk to. I have also had a couple of dinners here (Friday night only I think) and they have been amazing (two different types of pasta). My pumpkin pasta...was served out of a pumpkin, which I think is awesome! Good job guys, keep up the good work!

With things to do on a busy Saturday morning, Manfred's proved to be the ideal venue for a quick brunch. Staff were friendly and the mushrooms on toast was delicious. With all but one table occupied, Manfred's is clearly a popular venue amongst locals.
This is a friendly place with excellent food. The menu's small but everything is fresh and their cakes and slices on display are to die for. The coffee is high quality and served with warmth and a smile.
Also enjoyed lunch here during my stay in Melbourne. Bring cash or you will be charged for eftpos for just buying a coffee. I recommend the pulled pork roll.
A really nice setup just outside of Kew junction, I tried the Salmon Gravlax and the chocolate taste board and neither disappointed.
