It was a lovely surprise to discover Original Joe on West Portal!Of course I stuffed my basket full of porcini truffle pasta, a beef stew for later, a bouquet of spring flowers and several wines including a well priced Amorone.They have some small European style seating for outdoor dining, and wow, belly up for their deli which includes binge worthy lasagna, risotto, ravioli, and that panoply of yummies goes on.My waist line will never thank me, but my tummy will! ?I just wish service was better or at least less hostile. The kitchen and cashier are almost rude. Shame, I would go back more often but for the service.
I'm a huge fan of their diverse selection of salads! My favorite is the Chinese chicken salad. However, I do have a question: on DoorDash and UberEats, this particular salad is priced at $19, even for the pick-up option, while in-store it's only around $15. Regardless, all the salads are top-notch—fresh, delicious, and generously portioned. If you can, definitely stop by the store to grab your salads in person; you’ll save some money that way! The sandwiches here are great as well!
Stopped by to pickup an order on a super busy NYE and they were clearly getting more orders than anticipated but the employees were handling it with efficient grace in their tiny little kitchen and order prep area. My order took longer than expected but I got to watch the controlled chaos and could see my ticket progress which made it manageable. Food was great as always once I was finally able to grab and take home.
Absolutely the best pizza in West Portal. We’ve probably had over 20 take out pizzas and pasta’s in the past couple of years and the food’s always been delicious.. Great homemade dough and fresh ingredients. The staff is also very friendly when picking up orders. They are the Ferrari of pizzas in West Portal.

This bustling West Portal landmark is a must-visit. Make sure to place your order in advance and be ready for a slight wait. The staff is diligent and attentive, always serving with a smile. The food was delicious, although the family unanimously agreed that our homemade pizza crust was superior.
Even though it was a bit on the expensive side, the Garden Marg was definitely worth it. The pizza arrived piping hot, and each bite was incredibly flavorful. I highly recommend it!
The Family Size Little Gem Caesar Salad with lime vinaigrette was enjoyable. The pizza was decent, but I’ve definitely had better Hawaiian and pepperoni/mushroom/sausage pizzas.
I have been waiting for my order for over an hour, and the driver has informed me twice that the restaurant still hasn't completed it. This is really disappointing.

The Spicy Rigatoni Vodka and Garlic Parmesan Knots were remarkably fresh and tasty! The portions were generous and truly worth it.
A great restaurant with a solid menu. The pizzas are excellent, and the chicken parmigiana is impressive as well.
