Get there early...they sell out pretty fast...They take care of you there...one could sit out on the outside and byob...I'm definitely going back every chance I get...the baked potato is Texas sized...ate 3 days off of 1 potato...The owner or manager comes out personally and makes sure you're satisfied...Some of the best service I've had period and I've eaten at many places... Kid-friendliness: Kid spilled his drink and the waitress sprang into action, the manager come to clean up spill and told the child to not worry about it, brought him another drink, all without an attitude at all...
The barbecued meats are quite good. I tried the beans, coleslaw, and potato salad. The beans were decent, but the slaw was a bit bland. The potato salad reminded me of what you’d find at HEB. On the bright side, the iced tea was excellent. This place is reputed to be the best dining option in Stanton. However, keep in mind that there's no table service. The decor is charming, but I felt like I was dining in a converted Dairy Queen connected to a garage. Also, they don’t serve steaks, despite what a local had mentioned. The guy at the counter was very friendly.
