Maiz Taqueria is located in an inconspicuous street in the city centre. It's a really small restaurant with five tables. In summer there are four additional tables. Even if the corn is so small, it is still popular. We came to the restaurant on a Thursday evening without reservation and there was only half of the table for a short hour. That we had to share the table with two others was neither a problem for them nor for us. There was enough distance between them to talk undisturbed. Also the short stay was not a problem, because the service was always there quickly to fulfill our wishes. For drinking we ordered three a homemade ice tea for 3,50 €. Maiz ist immer einen Besuch wert. Das Innere scheint zwar manchen etwas rustikal, hat aber einen ganz besondeten Flair. Die Bedienung ist charmant und das Essen (auch wenn es immermal wieder minimal anders schmeckt) ist top.Man kann hier hauptsächlich zwischen Burritos gefüllt mit Fisch, Hähnchen, Schwein, Rind oder Süßkartoffeln und Tacos mit den gleichen Füllungen wählen. Als Getränk ist der hausgemachte Eistee/Limonade zu empfehlen der für seine 3,50€ bereits einen Refill beeinhaltet. Mein Geheimtipp: Mittags kommen und einen Burrito der sonst um die 10€ kostet für 5€ essen ;)
We were at Maiz Würzburg last night. The starter was chips with guacamole. Afterwards we tried our way through the tacos and burritos, accompanied by mixed frozen margaritas. A special highlight was the crispy taco “Flauta De Papa” – incredibly tasty and an absolute recommendation! If you like it more spicy, you can get two sauces and a spice paste upon request. The atmosphere is cozy and authentic, the service is attentive and warm. All around a perfect experience – we will definitely be back!
The food and the hosts were totally authentic! Anyone who appreciates well-made food in a relaxed atmosphere should definitely look over: ...a place to get out is worth it!
