We were driving through Mt. Olive after leaving Cliffs of the Neuse State Park this afternoon, and decided to stop in here for lunch. It was so so good. My daughter had the kid's 2 drumsticks meal we all had a bite of the chicken and it was some of the best I've had in a long time. It also came with hush puppies, which were so good my kids fought over the last one. My son had the cheeseburger, husband had the philly, and I had the chicken sandwich. Everything was fantastic. The service was fast and friendly. If you're anywhere near Mt. Olive, do yourself a favor and check out MaMa Kea's!
Mama Kea's is a true treasure in Mt. Olive! The country cooking here is the best, truly reminiscent of what my mom used to make. Miss Kea is absolutely charming, and her staff is fantastic! The atmosphere is lovely and feels like a warm hug as soon as you walk in. If you haven't visited yet, you must! You'll definitely enjoy it!
I had a fantastic lunch! I ordered the fried chicken, which was piping hot and freshly cooked, along with butter beans and cabbage. Everything was absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the prices were quite reasonable. I'll definitely be returning!
Mamá Kea's Diner in downtown Mt Olive (Center Street). Best bacon cheeseburger I've had in a long time. The meat is seasoned perfectly and the ingredients are fresh. Other people swear by the fried chicken but I'm here for the bacon cheeseburger combo.
