It was one of our favorite restaurant until yesterday night. My husband and I had a parents night out leaving our 6 months daughter with nanny and we were really excited to eat there after a looong time! We live in the other side of the city (Bernal Heights) and we planned very carefully every detail to make sure to arrive before the restaurant closure.Internet indicates 9.30pm as kitchen closure. So we arrived exactly at 9pm and the girl at the reception said they were closed. When we asked explanations and try to explain that on Internet say that the restaurant closes 9.30pm, she said exactly: “Depend on the flow of the night…”Next time I will try to explain my nanny (and my daughter too) th...

Would not recommend this restaurant based on very questionable business practices. I had received a gift certificate that was purchased online by a family of an elementary school student I had taught last year. I decided to finally use it for dinner tonight as a treat for my husband and I. Before ordering the food, I checked with the server if the gift certificate was valid to use. We were told the certificate was fine, and proceeded to order food and drinks. When we tried to use the certificate to pay for our meal, we were told it had a zero balance. We did not want to make a fuss and just paid the bill. My husband and I were very disappointed and surprised this restaurant would resort to t...

The place was packed when we went there. Definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time. We ordered 7 items (including 2 drinks) -1. Dojo house rolls2. Wiki wiki house rolls3. Midori house rolls4. Unagi sashimi5. Edomae6. Mukashi cocktailThe edomae was an 8 piece nigiri platter. The fish was fresh and tender yet slightly firm. It melted in the mouth with each bite. The rice was soft and subtle, providing a pleasant contrast to the fish's texture. Some nigiri had more wasabi than the other, so that was a bit off-putting as I am not a big fan of Wasabi. The hand rolls were pretty big and filling. Wiki wiki and midori were our favorites. The place is usually very loud.

After having appetizers and drinks here, I canceled reservations at another restaurant. The food was so good I forgot to take pictures! I 'll highly reccomend the Wagyu sliders, Otoro and king mackerel nigiri. If you get only one thing here, order the fatty tuna roll with truffle- this roll is truly next level!! The bar staff is great and I reccomend the 'spirited away ' and the 'paper crane ' Book a table now

Yummiko. Delish brussel sprouts, tonkatsu sliders, and shrimp tempura. Loved the vodka ginger honey drink. Brownie roll is all that but the green tea cheesecake not for all taste buds. (Perhaps the name is a clue? The cookies that come with the cheesecake are wonderful. They should sell those by the bag. Excellent service too!

Got sushi here last night, the sushi was amazing! I got the Wiki wiki house roll and it was plenty big and fresh! For starters we tried the Pork Gyoza and loved it. To finish it off we got a brownie roll for dessert. The dessert is a must! The toffee and caramel was perfect on top of the brownie roll! Highly recommend!

An absolute GEM on Chestnut Street! Fantastic cocktails, sublime sushi and soups, and excellent service at the bar. The atmosphere is upscale casual. I don’t even know what else to say. Go here and find out for yourself: this place is amazing. 10/10It’s been added to our favorites list! We love you Mamanoko!

Not your standard Japanese. Definitely taking it up a level. Easily the best sushi I’ve ever had. Very good cocktail and the umami sliders almost sent me straight to heaven. If I could have gotten a reservation every single night of my stay in SF, I would have.Very pricy but worth it for an unmatched treat. Book a table now

This place is a gem! The ambiance is romantic with dim lighting, and the sushi selection is top-notch. The highlight of the evening was their amazing dessert roll – an unforgettable experience! A must-visit for sushi enthusiasts looking to indulge in a memorable dining experience.
