This is a neighborhood restaurant. We were there for my birthday underwhelmed. The crabtini and the she crab soup is very, very good. Everyones food was mediocre at best. They charged $2 a person to plate a birthday cake, if you brought your own. They told us ahead of time. I’ve NEVER ever heard of this practice in any restaurants in South Hampton Roads. There was a huge mixup on the bills. There were 5 total bills. It took 30 minutes to get it straight, they kept bringing out the wrong receipts. I think they were trying to do their best. If you want an upscale restaurant for a special occasion, this is not the place to go.
The Gorgonzola salad was crisp and fresh and large enough to be shared by two. The Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and Sweet Italian Sausage and the Lasagna were delicious and large portions, so we took half home. The tiramisu was perfect. The waiter was attentive and had a great personality! A lovely place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary! We will be back!
Great food and service! We haven’t been to Mannino’s since before the pandemic, so this was a nice treat. The food is still wonderful, especially the crab soup! Special thanks to our server, Genevieve…she did a wonderful job in a very busy dining room!
Had an excellent Birthday Dinner with some friends. She Crab soup is the best around by far. Chicken Parm was excellent, and my veal dish was perfect.
