I’m puzzled by the positive reviews for this restaurant because the food was disappointing. The Costa Azul was hard and dry with barely any cheese, the rice was bland, and the tostada de ceviche de camarón had more tomato and onion than shrimp, tasting old and sour. The fish tacos were burnt. To make matters worse, the service was even worse; we were the only customers, yet the waiter took an eternity to bring our drinks and food. Once we finally received our meals, he never checked in to see if we needed anything, forcing us to call him each time. It felt like he was busy cooking in the back. Additionally, they don’t have a restroom available for customers. That's just absurd! Spending $150...
I’m always on the lookout for great seafood, especially oysters, in the West Covina area. We usually eat at places nearby but never thought to try this restaurant until today. I’m so glad I did! Everything was wonderful—from the service to the food, and the warm family atmosphere created by the owners. You can really see how much they care for one another and how attentive they are to their customers. I’m sure their father would be proud to see his family working together to honor his legacy and keep the restaurant thriving every single day. This is a fantastic place to relax. The service is outstanding. The Octopus cocktail was delicious, and the house salsa or hot sauce is amazing. Overall, I would rate the food a solid 4 out of 5.
