It was Presidents' Day weekend at the Mall of America, so we anticipated a bit of a wait; however, it was clear they were short-staffed in both the kitchen and on the floor. When we arrived, the server in the area where we were seated seemed visibly frustrated about having another table to handle, and we were subsequently moved by the host. After being reseated, our friendly server did his best to take care of us, but the kitchen was clearly overwhelmed, resulting in our food taking over an hour to arrive. I had lunch at the café inside Nordstrom at the Mall of America, and I must say, the service was awful! Our first order was taken promptly, but it took 15 minutes for my drink to arrive—apparently, the waitress was too busy bringing glasses from the kitchen to attend to us. There was no acknowledgment or apology for the delay. After delivering our food, she vanished, and we had to ask for the bill even though she clearly saw that we had finished eating a while ago. I understand that places can be understaffed and busy, but that wasn’t the case here. On the bright side, the food was good!
I have never had a bad meal here until yesterday. I ordered the salmon Oscar with crab meat which I have ordered numerous times. The salmon was so over cooked it was hard and extremely dry. The crab meat on top was fine but on the plate was refrigerator cold which was shocking. There was no sauce on the crab nor fish but loaded with onions which I don't remember and would since I don't like onions. Had to say it was really disappointing.
We had a terrible experience with Nordstrom and OpenTable. We made a reservation for Easter Sunday, which was confirmed twice by OpenTable. However, when we arrived, the restaurant was closed. We had no options for recourse and couldn't even try to book somewhere else because OpenTable indicated we were still at Nordstrom. We are incredibly disappointed.

I sat at the bar for a quieter experience and ordered a salad and glass of wine from the nice list of options by the glass. The salad was Asian with chicken with a very light dressing and balanced components. I topped it off with a NA beverage of blackberry and ginger beer which was perfect.
Nordstrom Grill may be a well kept secret to many MOA visitors. I recently discovered it myself and have been back within a week. It has an interesting menu and good food. Customer service was very professional and efficient. I have already promoted it to others.
Our waitress was terrific. My French Onion Soup was somewhat burned. We has to ask for bread and butter to go along with our soups. The carpet was torn right near our booth. Overall not an upscale dining experience which as what I was expecting.
The Asian salad with chicken or shrimp is a solid standout. Service was attentive. Dining at Nordstrom midday to break up a full day at the MOA is the best option. It's quiet and out of the din of noise in all the other restaurants.

Siri was a fantastic server and the French Onion soup was different, unique, and quite good. All the items we ordered were very well done: Halibut fish and chips as well as the crab bisque and Gnocchi with Chicken Meatballs.
Great spot for lunch. Soups are served hot and a nice serving Tomato basil was very tasty and served with a piece of toast. Salads were very good and the size was enough to share. Nice quick shopping lunch.
