I hadn't visited Marks and Spencer Cafe in Wellingborough for some. My daughter and I went for lunch there yesterday. We were very disappointed to see they were only now offering soup, toasted sandwiches or cakes. We opted for two toasted sandwiches, a small latte, and a smoothie. It was hard to distinguish what the filling in the sandwiches was, it was so tasteless and not even a bit of salad to go with them. The latte was so weak, it tasted as if milk and water had been added to the dregs of a coffee cup. The smoothie was fine. We paid £14:30. I was shocked and will not be making a return visit.
This coffee shop is not up to the standard you would expect from M&S. The tables are consistently dirty, there is food on the floor, and the seats are in disrepair. The staff seem uninterested in providing a satisfactory experience for customers, with some offering to fetch items from the bakery while others claim there is nothing left. It is unclear how this shop will survive in Wellingborough unless improvements are made. Despite multiple complaints to M&S, the state of the coffee shop remains unchanged.
After reading earlier reviews, it is clear that there has been no improvement. The staff neglect to clean tables or clear away used items. They remain behind the counter and do not attend to the cleanliness of the dining area. The food is pre-packaged, leaving no room for any food preparation. This establishment needs to get their act together!
This particular M&S coffee shop's staff are really excellent. Very helpful, quick to serve and very likeable. I like dropping in here when I want a drink whilst shopping if I have the time, as I usually have a toastie, my fave dish here, or some kind of cake. I've never had less than good service or less than good food.

Stopped off for a break from shopping. Had a lovely toasted sandwich with side salad and a pot of tea. Staff welcoming and friendly, i was served promptly and did not struggle to find somwhere to sit. Finished off with a slice of lemon drizzle cake, heavenly ! No complaints great place to stop for lunch.
toasted sandwich wasnt what you would expect a toasted one to be it was soggy in the middle and soft cold bread absolutely disgusting and a cup of tea total £6 45 complete waste of money will never return
OK so it is M S with friendly staff at the front of an M S food hall so you get what you would expect at a price you would expect as you build up your strength before or after shopping for food
I love coming to this restaurant for coffee and cake almost every weekend. It's always cozy and enjoyable. I can't wait to come back once the lockdown is over and it's safe to do so.

It's ideal as its local it's a little small sometimes it's low on stock and is a disappointment because of this however very friendly staff and manager
Lovely little cafe in the M&S Simply food store. Good service and lovely fresh food. Clean environment.
