The actual restaurant is in the process of being refurbished so at the moment they are using the function room at the back of the hotel, but it was very pleasant and welcoming. Having walked past Massimo many times in our local area, we finally decided to book a meal for two on a Saturday night in August 2020. Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find only one other couple dining. The menu was limited due to Covid, offering basic dishes such as fish and chips and pizza with minimal toppings. We were also disturbed by the noise from rowdy wedding guests on the terrace outside, leading us to request a table change. We came for an early tea on a Friday night with a 3 year old and 5 year old. The safety measures in place were the best I've seen and the lady that looked after us could not have been nicer, more accommodating, more professional or more engaging. Thank you Stacey! The food was varied, good value and the pizzas were top class. The wine was much needed and tasted great, it was lovely to see a New Zealand Sav Blanc on the menu and it did not disappoint!
We were staying on a spa break which included a meal in the restaurant so didn't have too high expectations, but my risotto was absolutely delicious as was my daughter's pizza certainly too much for her to finish! I had the mille feulle to finish, which is an unusual desert and was home made and lovely. We finished the meal with coffees and it came well within our £25 budget allocation.

Avoid if you can. Nicer places to eat nearby. Food is poor menu looks quite nice but it’s definitely not an Italian restaurant. Garlic bread tasteless made with just a drizzle of garlic oil. Pizza same. Sea food pasta thin sauce which made the deep fried battered fish soggy.
We visited the spa next door and decided to eat in the restaurant. We were not disappointed. I had potato skins to start and others had prawns. We all had pasta dishes which were delicious. The portion sizes are very generous
The food was just okay. When my mom and I visited the restaurant, it was very cold inside. We had to wait a long time for our meals, even though the restaurant was not busy at all. I don't think I'll be going back again.
We ate at the restaurant as hotel guests...it was a quiet night and service was fast. The food was cooked fresh and was very tasty. The portions were very generous. The menu had enough choices to suit most people.

The meals at this restaurant were excellent. I enjoyed afternoon tea, dinner, and breakfast, and the attentive staff were always willing to help with anything I needed.
The food and the service were excellent nothing more i can say but thank you the evening went extremely well.My wife and I will definitely return.
