I've visited many Hawaiian and Pacific Island-style restaurants, but I have to give a huge shoutout to the staff at Matiki! Their food is clearly made with love, and the BBQ team deserves all the praise for their incredible beef ribs! I've never tasted anything like them anywhere else, and the beef rib plate is consistently perfect—tender and smoky to the point of falling off the bone! The only suggestion I have is that I wish they could offer some different options for the white rice, like bacon, spam, Portuguese sausage, or char siu fried rice. This restaurant may not always be at its finest, but I can confidently say I prefer their food over any other mid-priced Hawaiian restaurant out there. Their beef rib plate is absolutely incredible. The seasonings are perfectly balanced, and their mac salad is always delicious. The meat is consistently tender, sweet, and savory. Altogether, the dishes create a wonderful harmony of flavors. I do wish they offered traditional Hawaiian drinks, though. The service is decent, but friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy yet often crowded. I usually get my order to go. Overall, it's a place you definitely need to try!
