I waited for a seat for 45 minutes, and despite the availability of booths, we were repeatedly told we couldn't sit there. After a family of the same size that arrived after us was seated, we decided to leave. I spoke with the manager, James Moore, who kindly invited my family and me to give Max and Erma another chance. I must say that James was wonderful, both over the phone and in person. He explained that our long wait was due to the fact that the girl in charge of seating was in training and it was her very first day.

I met my Brother and his Children for Dinner Earlier tonight.. The Food is Amazing and Has never let me down since the 90’s. My visit to the Gahanna location tonight was kind of disappointing. Marilyn was our Server she was very attentive for about 15 minutes. Our appetizer came out quickly but we put in our food and it took 30 minutes for 2 Caesar salads 1 house salad? About 45 minutes after we received our apps is when we got our food. Luckily we didn’t have a time frame to leave by. Horrible customer service. We stood at the host stand for 10 minutes as the hostess walked by looking confused. When we did get seated the waitress explained this wasnt her area but she would take care of us. I got the garbage burger and that was a bad choice I guess. The bun was burnt and the fries was cold. We also go the nachos as an appetizer and it was undercooked with the cheese not melted. It was gross. I will never go there again.
Typically have great experiences with all Max Erma's but this trip was not. My husband ordered the garbage burger medium well, it was more rare than anything! They did comp the meal and offer a replacement but we had already waited 45 minutes for the first one. We didn't have enough time to wait for another! This was at 3 in the afternoon so they were not busy. Very disappointed this time!

First my mom and I were seated in an area that was very loud with a large party. My mom is older and asked for a quieter seat. Our waitress was amazing!!! She gave us a new seat and talked so down to earth with us through our whole visit !!! Her name on my receipt is Shay. She gave us recommendations and a very pleasant visit!!! I wish all servers gave customer service as she did !!!
My wife attempted to communicate with our waitress, but she seemed to ignore her. After waiting six minutes for a refill, I had to ask for it myself. Our server was Camisha at table 53/1, and if I had to rate her service on a scale from 0 to 10, I would unfortunately give her a 0.5. I really didn’t want to express this, but it was a frustrating experience.
My wife and her two sisters enjoyed our experience. Our server was nice and the food came fresh and tasty. I would definitely go back! If you download their app, you will receive 6 free cookies. Also on Tuesday, children eat free with any adult duck purchased. Not many places where you can feed 4 people with top for under $30. Great offers!!!
The service and food were excellent. The burgers were fantastic. Be sure to try the fried pickles and chocolate chip cookies—they're delicious!
