Only the McDonald's on the south side consistently gets orders wrong every single day. I just left there and when I got home, half of my order was missing. The manager was standing way out in the parking lot chatting, while the drive-thru employee handed me two small drinks instead of the large ones I ordered. I had to send them back and ask for the correct size. How can they mess up an order when the screen clearly shows what was ordered? I understand people say the staff lacks proper training or education, and it really showed—not just tonight. I went through the drive-thru and ordered two caramel frappes. They handed me one with just a tiny bit of whipped cream, so I had to ask them to fill it to the top. Then, I waited over 30 minutes for my other frappe. When they finally brought it out, it had chocolate on the whipped cream. I requested a caramel frappe, not a mocha, and again asked for the whipped cream to be filled to the top. Instead, they gave me the same drink with whipped cream on top of the chocolate. I reiterated that I wanted caramel, and after waiting around for another 10 minutes, I decided to go inside and ask a manager to make my drinks.
The food was served cold, including the hash browns, and our order was incorrect, but we were still charged for it. We had to wait a long time at the register while the staff seemed to be standing around without helping anyone. Many customers were left waiting for someone to take their orders. It's frustrating that I have to travel to Artesia or Roswell just to get a frappe because the Carlsbad McDonald’s location hasn't been serving frappes for over a month. Whenever I order a drink from the McDonald’s menu, I usually get sweet tea, but it's either too sweet or not sweet enough every time. It's a lose-lose situation.
It's McDonald's, so experiences can vary a lot—sometimes great, sometimes not so much. This time, it was pretty good. I had breakfast burritos and a shake, and everything was hot, fresh, and tasty.
