This McDonald's, in my personal experiences, needs to work on training staff members who actually WANT to work there. The last 2 times I went through the drive-thru, 2 different female's, were both rude and had bad attitudes, like they were being bothered by having to do their job. Also the food is, often prepared wrongly or some items will be missing all together. I once ordered a double quarter pounder, with lettuce and mayo only, when we got home, I realized they gave me no bottom bun what-so-ever! They rarely give napkins etc. Luckily the last time I went, the guy at the 2nd window, was very nice. I got the impression he was some sort of manager, or shift lead, because he was very cheerf...
If you have a minute to spare, go to the McDonalds on Grove. Came by this branch due to a mistake on the app. For this exchange, it was a mobile order of fries. Food: Service: Soggy greasy fries that seemed to say for quite some time. Pulled up to drive thru for my mobile order, no response for 30 seconds, so I drove forward. Turns out they are changing shifts.. where 's my greeting and ask for a hold?! I thought to myself. The young lady did not apologize but greeted me with the biggest smile she can muster. Then the guy that handed me my fries didn 't ask for ketchup before he shut the window and turned his attention to something else... there is no car behind me, bro! That 's when I decid...
The food at this restaurant is decent, but the staffing shortage is a significant problem. If you need assistance at the cashier, be ready for a long wait or consider using a kiosk, which might be stressful for some patrons. It appears that the emphasis is on the drive-thru service, leaving those in the dining area feeling overlooked. Moreover, there seems to be a greater priority given to food delivery services rather than to customers who are dining in. One dissatisfied customer even reported contacting the corporate office to ask for additional support from the management.
Food is good but the place is understaffed and if you need a cashier you might be waiting a long while or they make you use the kiosk which I hate using because it gives me anxiety through the roof. Or you would have to go through the drive-thru since they seem to be only focusing on the drive-thru than anything else. Also they think doordash and food delivery is more important than people in the lobby at the cashier section. And my mom said she was going to call the corporate office the manager didn't come up and said please do because we would like more help.

My favorite McDonald's is in Castro Valley, but on Friday night, the drive-thru was exceptionally busy! Despite the large number of orders, the staff at both the payment and food windows were courteous and welcoming. My order was taken accurately, but when I got home, I was surprised to find a burnt bun—something I’ve never encountered before. On the bright side, the fries were still hot and tasty.
The McDonald's in Castro Valley is my favorite, but it was Friday night and the drive thru was swamped! Each teller at the windows (pay and food) were polite and friendly even though they were getting such a high volume of orders. My order was taken and the food was correct, but when I got home, I've never had a burnt bun before???? Fries were still hot and excellent though!!
I am 64 years old and I was wearing camo, this is apparently a problem for some people because a younger black man was eyeballing with hard looks for a long time, then a much younger white man was making racist comments about my Asian friend while we drank our coffee. I guess I am supposed to keep quiet because I was told to ignore the trash. What do you think?
We ordered our food and after seeing their technical issues I now know why the food was cold...I could only assume everything was being made in advance and altered afterwards we had confirmed our order for the 3rd time...all in all they did their best and brought me fresher fries in less than 2 minutes.

Went for breakfast...easy ordering via kiosk. Wait was a little longer but food was fresh and hot. Coffee was above average and condiments were abundant. Breakfast meals plus coffee for me and mom was a very reasonable 13 bucks.
