I was genuinely impressed by the food. The menu offers a wide variety of entrees that cater to dietary restrictions—I'm a pescatarian and my girlfriend is a gluten-free vegetarian. The seafood dish featured Maine lobster in the most creative way I've ever experienced, and I've had my fair share of lobster! For $40, you get four courses (appetizer, salad, entrée, and dessert), which is slightly more than I typically spend on a night out, but it’s absolutely worth it for the quality and amount of food. I have a feeling this is going to become our go-to spot!
We've been visiting Rockland for years, traveling from Portland, ME. We're quite accustomed to the fantastic dining options available in Portland, but this place could easily hold its own against any of those restaurants. Just keep in mind that it's not your typical dining experience. You’ll need some patience, as Jordan takes on the roles of chef, server, and bartender all at once. Every dish we tried was delicious, and we ended up so full that we could only share one dessert. Thankfully, we had a long walk back to our hotel to help us digest! #ThumbsUp
What a hidden gem! Had one of my nicest dinners in recent recollection. A 4 course prix fixe dinner that blew my socks off! My main course was the lamb stew, which featured a fall off the bone chop in a luscious, deeply seasoned sauce with traditional vegetables. I chose the flavorful GARU FOTU appetizer Manioc grits, smoked ground shrimp, and fried egg cooked in reduced tomato sauce and a west african blend of herbs and spices. The chef/owner does it all! And the entree offerings are extensive, varied, and lovingly prepared. Don't miss this place!!!
From the very first moment we arrived, Chef Jordan made us feel like we were at his home in West Africa. Fantastic specialty cocktails like the Gbe Ve Ve rum, mint, lemon cello, champagne lime juice to the most unique and incredible entrees .... chicken, beef, snapper, lamb, all cooked with unique African spices, and nothing like I've ever experienced. Definitely the go to place when you're in this area of the country. Of course, I'll leave the amazing lemongrass, tapioca pudding dessert as a surprise for you to experience!

Chef and owner Jordan offers an impressive selection of delicious food and drinks inspired by his West African roots. The cozy atmosphere of his restaurant adds a unique touch to the overall experience. My wife and I sampled and shared seven of his dishes, all of which were outstanding and beautifully presented. The pricing for these four-course dinners was very reasonable, and we believe it's worth a solid 5-star rating for value. We will definitely be returning!
I have been traveling the whole country and I haven’t found a place like this anywhere else. I’m originally from NYC and eat out quite a bit but never have I seen a one man operation be so sophisticated yet humble and mesmerizing. The food reminded me of home and it also had an amazing elevated side to it. Highly recommend I will be coming back for sure. I am very impressed.
