Moved to Biggleswade in January and were keen to find a good Chinese takeaway. Mei 's was undoubtedly the popular recommendation to us. I 've waited to write a review as the first two times, we weren 't overly impressed with the food, but also recognised that some nights are busier than others and some times it 's just one of those nights. We 've now eaten from there four times and are still not enamoured with the food. It 's hot and fresh, but generally lacks in taste and depth for us. It 's not terrible, but at the same time, not that great where you think you really enjoyed it. The customer service skills however need a significant improvement (or perhaps more staff just need to be hired...
I'll never order from meis kitchen again!!! We sat down to enjoy a nice Chinese half way through my son found a maggot wriggling about in his rice! Yes the manager refunded us the money back but honestly a live maggot!!! The manager said it must of came from the veg .. the food had been cooked so surely a cooked maggot is a dead maggot!!! This was very much alive !! We always enjoyed a Chinese after this it will be a while before we have another and I'll never order from meis kitchen again.
I recently ordered a takeaway from this restaurant on a Friday, and I must say it was quite disappointing. The chips were dried up, the special omelette didn't seem very special as it only had 2 tiny prawns for almost £6, and the chicken chow mein was mainly greasy noodles with a few beansprouts and a small amount of chicken. Overall, I was very disappointed with the quality of the food. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place as it seems like the quality has gone downhill.
I have dined at Mei's kitchen many times and I must say that the food is always delicious. In my opinion, Mei's kitchen is the least greasy compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area, and I appreciate that it doesn't upset my stomach like some of the others. The only criticism I have is that sometimes they seem to put too much onion in the chow mein and skimp on the meat, especially in the Duck dish. However, aside from that, the food is delicious and the service is great!

Had a takeaway last evening was told it would be an hour which suited us but it arrived in 10 minutes. I ordered CRISPY shredded beef but it was so chewy and tough I couldn’t eat it. The lemon chicken was even worse, the pieces were so large that they were in a congeled lump. We’ve ordered from here many times but recently the food has been disappointing Won’t be using them again Lyn from Biggleswade
I have been here a few times the food is nice but i was put off goin there again because wen i was waiting for my order i over heard one of the staff bein really horrible you could say bullying a young member of staff and it put me off goin back there but the food was nice but they loose points for bein un professional bad staff treatment
I ordered food online, I had a confirmation email saying the order was confirmed and my food would be delivered. An hour later I called too ask how long it was going too be only too be told that they had cancelled my order and refunded me because they were too busy!! Absolutely disgusting
The Chinese takeout we had was absolutely delicious! We placed our order online and picked it up about an hour later. The food was freshly prepared and really satisfying. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant.

This place used to be great but has gone totally downhill. Terrible customer service and very disappointing food now unfortunately. Scary to read some of the other reviews also……
I think they are the best in Biggleswade. They take card payment for a start! Get the Singapore chow mein, it’s the best around. Friendly as well. Go here.
